Yes, I meant the fairies - I have a real hard time getting any magic-soaked tiles at all. Demons aren't so bad as you can make them with the normal nutrients.

I mean i don't have a real strategy to get liliths yet, normally i guess a path which i think will have a good success of making a lilith tile. lol
I think that T shaped sort of path should work though, i've seen people use it in vids to make dragons but i'm not so good at it myself.
Also i think purple lizardmen are good enough to beat them, i'll have to double check that though.

I don't remember which ones Belmondo & Charlotte were but generally you want to trick the heroes into spamming their magic attacks in one place (set up choke points).. that will give you a large supply of mana to work with. If B&C don't use magic then try to get the previous stage's heroes to do it.
Some of the challenge levels put you in situations where you can only stop the heroes on their way out on account of the magic they have used on their way in - again I really recommend persisting with those challeneges if you want to get the hang of everything.
edit - a couple of tips about the slimes - they only respond to blocks that already have nutrients in them, if you have slimes walking a path with no nutrients around you need to kill some of them to return nutrients to the surrounding blocks, otherwise they are doing nothing. Also (this applies to the basic mosses, advanced mosses may behave differently) they always alternate picking up and dropping off. So if you have a situation with 2 slimes passing 2 nutrient blocks, you're often going to get a stalemate where they just undo what the other one did.Last edited by Darwock; 14-10-2009, 21:58.

Thanks for the tips on the slimes, Darwock. That helped a lot.
I just made it through story mode. Still not quite sure of my methods but I just kept going at it and going at it (ever so slightly addicted to this) and finally managed to do it. My main tactic was keeping everything as far apart as possible - meant I used up a lot of dig power but I had plenty of space to dig when magic nutrients were dropped and it gave the heroes a long journey in and out during which I could try to repopulate areas. Managed to get quite a lot of Liliths too but I realised that they don't last long so I only create them as needed.
A cracking little game. I'm looking forward to finishing the challenges and actually figuring out better strategies. My Almanac has tons of holes in it so there must be loads I've missed.
At the end of the credit sequence, a screen came up that I skipped by accident. Something about L and R? Anyone know what that was?

I've decided to give up on this. I basically fail level 6 (one where you have two healers and a swordsman with an attack that wipes out a whole room).
I can generate Lizardmen fine now but not mana. Mana seems entirely dependent on having heros cast spells at convinient points. Even then it's hard to get mana flames to load up enough mana to create fairies.
I never feel like I know what I'm doing and that should never be the case. The tutorials are hopeless at teaching you and the game seems far too random.
