Does that mean it doesn't run through component?

it will but in 576i or 576p

EDIT: I wonder if the borders also equate to the old adage of slower gameplay then 60hz.

The US version does but only in interlaced format.

I think the only thing i don't like about this game so far is not being able to skip the tutorial if you re-play the first stage...Find the controls a bit fiddly sometimes too.

I do like how big the stages are though, managed to find some

toilets you can slam people down

on the first stage the second time i played through it.

Have only managed to get a super violence combo so far.

Picked this up today and have to say what i have played i am loving. The presentation wow they have been extremely clever and to me the game just looks amazing. The gameplay has been commented on and i have to agree with what has been said. This has lived up to the expectations i had and more. Everything about it screams thought. from the way you can throw enemies infront of moving trains to the use of tires. The way you unlock weapons like a barbed wire club for use it also good as it rewards the good players, so you have an insentive to pull off crazy combos.

This game to me shouts Xbox 360 i am glad it went to Wii as i think its more likely to get the praise it deserves being on a console that is not crowded with 18 rated games.

One small gripe the camera can have a mind of its own a bit which can be a pain. Though this can be sorted by centring it behind you with a press of a button.

            EDIT

I am running it through a component cable

Spot on there Mr. Mole... Have you played around with the

              two daggers

yet? Those are a lot of fun - have some wonderfully bloody finishes. Really like how each weapon has its own style and set of moves. The air attack is particularly cool...

Before venturing on i'm enjoying replaying the earlier levels and trying to beat my score. It's great how everything's set out to promt the player to be creative with their kills... Earlier i was chuffed when i used a suitcase of cash to lure three dudes infront of a dustbin (the one's that slam them in half) - i then put three sign posts in one guy, a barrel on another and managed to slam all three in the dustbin. Made me chuckle. It could have been easy to just race through and go crazy with the chainsaw, but it's far too fun using the environments and whatnot. They've really done well there.

KusoGaki, i agree about the stages. I've been quite surprised by how big they are... They're the perfect killing playground... an incredible amount of detail in them too... from swirls of steam and smoke to the amount of posters on the walls.

It's a shame there's no online score system - maybe that'll be added in a possible sequel? Also... a little click on the zoom button on the TV sorts out those black borders quite nicely

edit: oh, and i'm loving my t-shirt

Not had a chance to play with those yet, i will look out for them. Some are commenting on the black bars at the top and bottom of the picture, but to me it just adds to it all. Its safe to say that the Wii has the best all round line up with this and HOTD:Overkill adding the filling in the final gaps in the Wiis gaming armour.

This is not usually my type of game but quality is quality

Much like the developers on HOTD:Overkill i have not heard of this lot either (Platinum games) but i am very interested to see what they can do with the DS project they have in the works.

Am really liking it so far, and with HOTD..overkill it's nice and fun to play(which i haven't found lately on some of my other PS3/360 games)

                      Oh please don't hate me

Up to the third level tonight and I'm really enjoying this - some of the stuff in it is just insane. I love how when you jam the trumpet

through someone's head, they stagger around making a little `toot` sound

Have to agree with Adam too that the blades produce some spectacular results -

gutting the guy from one end to another is brutal.

I always had reservations about how Madworld would actually look in motion on my TV set, but I have to be honest this shows that the Wii can compete on a visual basis if things are done right - this game totally overshadows some of the dross that's been pumped out on PS3 and 360 in the last few years.

From the start I've maintained that the stylised approach for Wii games would be more likely to deliver the goods to audiences like this forum and the less `casual` market (hate to use that term but don't know how else to phrase it) and his just proves it. This and Oboro Muramasa Youtoden show how the Wii should be doing things if it wants to appeal to those who want a visual treat when they play (like me).

Only downside I'm finding is the repeated commentary gets a bit boring by the time you clear a stage - if I hear that masturbation joke one more time I swear I'm going to find Greg Proops and hit him in the face with a signpost... not that videogames make you violent or anything!

I've killed six of the "bosses" now and this game just gets better and better. I'm actually quite surprised at the storyline too, it is pretty good.

deary deary me what the hell happened to the PAL version of this?

I have the NTSC version but played the PAL one today,
borders so big you need a passport to play it
anyone who says you don't notice the borders either hasn't seen the NTSC one or is still living in 1994 when this kinda of rubbish was the norm.
I find it saddening that even today in 2009, and with a game purely targeted towards the "core" gamer that this type of shoddy PAL land treatment is still happening.
Fantastic game though just an absolutely piss poor PAL coversion, and that is NOT something i thought i'd be saying in the 21st century.
If you can then import this one, this difference is night and day.

Guess I'm still living in 1994 then

I actually have played both NTSC and PAL versions, I can honestly say that the borders are not an issue unless the player makes them into one.

Just beat the 5th stage earlier, loving this part of the city so far.

Asian Town, the spear weapon is probably the most fun weapon so far. Especially the bit with the pot of oil you can throw the ninjas in and then throwing them in the 'Orders' thing

Didn't like the 3rd stage so much...

Thought the whole bike thing was kinda boring...Didn't even realise A button was accelerate until about halfway through.

Find the 30 minute limit a bit annoying sometimes, especially in the 4th stage when i'm trying to score and look for the

                                three animal orbs.

. Always end up getting told i have ten minutes left and just end up goin straight to the boss instead.
