Meh, I'm not going to be able to play it tomorrow anyway. I suppose I could at 11:30, but I'm intent on getting **** faced and doing something regrettable infront of loads of people, so I don't want my first HL2 experience to be drunken and all over the shop.

So, I think that it would be best if I was to wait for a day and then go for it later, when I'm totally ready... It'll be for the best... /me deuldes himself.

Gamespot now have a review up.

It scored 9.2

I went to have a read but it started talking about the plot so I got the **** out of there (apparently they didn't like it ).

There's also a load of new screens with some spoilers in there (but then I didn't look too closely ), so unless you want to b0rk it on the homestraight I'd stay well away


edit :- IGN's new review gives it 9.7. Again, stay the hell away as its littered will spoiler pics !!

It is really sad, I actually do think that 9.2 is a pretty poor score... I suppose half of that is because everywhere else loved it and that it should get a high score becuase of my expectations... but also becuase of the flaws in the 90%+ rating systems implimented by many review sites.

At least it didn't do a Killzone and get a 7.x from those sites after hyping to hell

Yes of course, when I read a review for a game I want to hear about if its any good or not, not a breakdown of the spoilers, mabybe we should start rating the Reveiwers, GameSpot get a 5.4 and IGN get a 7.2 for ruining the game ahead of schedule

I kinda think that I should have bought HL2 today just to play CS:Source. If I hadn't lost my debit card, I think I would have cancelled gameplay and got it today... I keep forgetting that there are other things I could play... however without BB, and I assume with no bots, it would be kinda pointless.

Still, would have felt good to let off some steam, just get a feel for the engine I suppose.

However, it will be a totally fresh experience for me, and one to remember... Other than this thread I've not seen anything. I didn't want to risk doing a concept0r and spoiling certain things for myself.

So, I don't think you'll see me in this thread until I've finally got into it a bit. I know you guys are good, and you'll all use spoiler tags (Just change the colour to white) and that there will be little opportunity for people to get annoyed about that, but I'm not taking the risk.

So, at this point, I'm going to leave you. I'm going to play some Halo 2 or PES4 and savour it becuase, from this point on, there will be no other game for me.

Thank you peeps, I've had a great time! It's been totally mental, the ups and downs and everything inbetween. I'd like to thank Spatial, he started the whole thing, and even after all the hype, I didn't have to kill you. Concept, you're the ****ing dogs bollocks, thank you so much buddy for helping me out. Your generosity really got me pumped up after realising that my hardware wasn't up to much. I should have had my card back by now, but when I get it you got some petty cash coming your way for postage I'd like to tell everyone how much I appreciated all the information that they brought into the thread, and all the links... The e3 videos that I had downloaded for me were great, thanks to everyone involved with that.

I hope you guys have a great time, I know it won't dissapoint, and you'll be sure to see me in a couple of days, when I can finally post some impressions...

If you just want to tell me how great the game is then, ffs send me a message. Infact everyone here, ALL OF YOU, when you put the game in and play to the point of exhaustion and you think you can't go anymore, take a 20 second break and tell me how much you love it.

That IGN review was awful - it didn't tell me anything about how great the game was. After the review I was half expecting a 5/10 and "yeah, it's alright, but not great" comment. :\

Well, bang goes my last chance of getting it before it goes live on Steam at 8.00am. Friend just phoned and said where he works can't give him a copy cos they're out of stock till Wednesday.

Guess I'll be hanging around tommorow to see if my Gameplay copy turns up

Still, on the bright side I get a lay in tommorow morning now. Plus they should have sorted out the Steam servers crash by the time my copy arrives in the post at midday
