So i bought this game as i expect most ps3 owners did
Its pretty nice, the controls and movement, interaction with climable objects etc is great, and the story is well presented and acted out

Got a few questions about karma tho, when you have the possitive/negative decision options the outcome is obvious of course, however when you do the light/dark missions i was a bit confused. So i pick a evildark mission, stop some people who are protesting against you, ok, so i blast teh fk out of them, the cars, the streets, anybody near, everything, fry fry fry delightful, mission complete and it says "your karma status remains unchanged" or something, so how the hells that work, are there any consequences at all for frying everything you see as you walk thro the city? doesnt seem like it

It's a bit vague what turns you evil really. Killing people and random destruction does make you a bit more evil but only by incredibly tiny amounts, life draining is slightly more effective. The biggest jumps in morality are the clearly marked 'choices'. I also get the impression that the game limits how evil you can be at certain stages.

        3 shards...and I'm spent.

Decided to start my hard + evil playthrough, finding it difficult being a bastard but finally embraced it, running around frying anything that moves is quite liberating, but some of the moral choices leave me feeling horrible!

Mark of a good game that, imho.

I just finished this yesterday and must say its one of the better games for me this gen. Reminds me a lot of the old Spiderman 2 game which I also really enjoyed back then.

Does anyone feel like they've been using a pneumatic drill though after playing this? lol. I think they turned the rumble feature up to 11 on this game

I managed to go from maxed out hero to just into evil in about ten minutes after I beat the game. I just ran around kicking people to death. Maybe the personal nature of doing that rather than people dying as a side effect of you blowing up a car...

I'm now convinced my gamesave is corrupt somehow. I've spent HOURS trying to find those last 3 blast shards. This morning I methodically went on top of EVERY building in the game, nope, not even one found.

All I need is those 3 shards and I'll have got my first ever platinum trophy, but alas, I'm sure that's not going to happen now!

Same here although I finally found the last two yesterday afternoon.

I had 348 out of 350 shards on my evil play-through and one who under the bridge in the park on the first island and the other was sitting on some stumps rising out of the sea on the first island too.

They are there somewhere mate and although you are trying hard to look and search everywhere, it just isn't quite hard enough.

Have you climbed to the very top of the tallest building on the third island? One of the blue shards do not appear until you are at least half-way up.

I hope you find them mate!

I've given up to be honest, my last search left me with *such* a sour taste in my mouth I don't want to ruin the game for myself. I love this game, but the obscene amount of time searching for those last shards has decreased the love. I've never felt so broken by a game.

But yeah, got the one on the tallest building, got the one out in the water on the pier. I've searched every building, think I've nearly broken my L3 button in the process.

I was going to sell the game to be honest as it feels unfinished, teasing me, knowing that those 3 shards are all that stands between me and victory, and my first ever platinum trophy...but I figured one day I'll come back to it, maybe in a years time like I did with Crackdown, and found the final ones then.

Don't give up on it, I spent ages travelling around looking for the last one before I got sensible about it.

Download this map and just mark off each street as you walk down it. You'll be surprised how much space you can cover in a short time if you plan you're route.

I think it took about 20 minutes to find the last one this way after spending what must have been at least 10 times as long the other way of trying to search each building.

The first thing I did was just rail surf around the train track of the island I was on and just take note of how much of the surrounding area was scanned by my radar as I went past.

Look at sections 2 & 3 in the Historic District. You've covered much of the perimeter when rail surfing so you just need to walk down the 2 main roads between sections 2 & 3 them and if you check which areas are being scanned on your radar as you're doing this you may or may not need to walk to where the figure 3 is.

Because you're marking your route on the map as you go you don't go down the same roads multiple times and it just keeps things simple by tracking the streets rather than "searching the buildings" as you've been doing. I've seen a map out there with all the shards marked but that just complicates things needlessly.

Made the mistake of popping this on for a 'quick look' last night and very quickly it's all I want to play (though I really need to finish Arkham Assylum first). I love the comic book city and the combat elements, and I'm a sucker for the grind/growth element, wanting to continually develop and do new things. Great first impressions ... think I'm going to enjoy this one.

I was on 349/350 and just gave up, too. Sorry, I spent hours methodically searching every single city block, went round the perimeter, went round the rails, building by building, street by street - I just don't have the patience to keep going. It's gone. The one thing I do wish the game had implemented that might have kept me going was a count per island. You have it for dead drops when you don't even need it (you can tell you've cleaned an island out when the trophy unlocks, but with the radar ping that's pointless as an indicator), so why not for the shards? Knowing which third I should be concentrating on could have kept me going that little bit longer.

On the other hand I did start an evil playthrough and I haven't yet got off the first island on that one, so I might use the count on the map for that. Don't know when I'll go back to it, though.

On my second day with infamous and pondering whether to carry on playing or leave it. I've just unlocked the second island and lowered the first bridge.

Apart from the collecting I'm finding the repetition rather tedious. Does it change as you progress to the other islands or will I still be endlessly doing the same thing?

I got really bored with it once I got on the second island & ended up trading it in for Batman: AA back when that was released never finished & dont really plan on going back to another copy.

Apart from the free raom areas I found it dull & repetitive & quickly got bored of all the samey missions.

It's a shame as I had high hopes for a PS3 Crackdown but it let me down.

Have you got the one on top of the really tall building near the blast crater you started the game in? For some reason, if the shard is above a certain height it won't appear on your map when you send out a "ping" - that was the last one I got after trying to be methodical..

I was the opposite, loved every minute of inFAMOUS, the story played a large part in keeping me gripped though. Just started playing Crackdown for the first time and I'm getting bored of that already, think it's way overrated.
