    I laughed as well.

I thought it was something that just happened, didn't know it was save related.

You may be right. I've been to a few hot springs though, and this only happened after I started with a second character.

I'm having trouble with one of the bosses, by the way - the big floating lion on the rooftops - anyone have any advice?

Bit of a bump as this has finally been released in the UK. Yay!

Put a good 4 hours into it today and I am really enjoying it. Obviously the first thing that you notice about the game are the stunning 2D visuals, they really are a treat for the eyes. Everything from the characters to the backgrounds just looks amazing. The developers really have used the "limited" power of the Wii very well.

Gameplay is simple but very enjoyable. The game allows you to use different control schemes, I went for the good old Gamecube controller (Wavebird to be precise). No matter what control method you use though, it is basically one button to attack (A) and then you move the analogue stick to mix things up. The simple yet engaging gameplay actually reminds me of Batman: Arkham Asylum (weird comparison, I know) and proves that you don't necessarily need a complex control scheme to make combat enjoyable.

I also love the many different blades you unlock as you progress through the game. The fact that each blade has its own unique skill and effect really adds a sense of variety to the gameplay. Some battles actually come down to using the right blade effectively at the right time. That point is especially highlighted during the boss battles, some of which are absolutely crazy!

The only real negative I have so far is that the amount of backtracking you have to do. I mean it certainly isn't bad enough to make me want to stop playing the game but it does sort of effect the immersion a little bit. I guess I can't complain too much though as it does give you a chance to take in the wonderful 2D visuals.

At the moment I am currently going playing through the story of Momohime (mostly on the Shura difficulty) and have just reached Act 5. I can't wait to finish the rest of her story off and then get stuck into the other one. Awesome game, anyone with a Wii should certainly try and pick this up.

I say try because (get ready for the mini story) I actually wanted to get this from my local Gamestation (had some store credit) but they didn't have any copies on the shelves. I asked at the counter and none of the staff knew what game I was talking about. I thought the idea was to have staff who actually know something about the gaming scene, guess the times have changed though. I also asked for Rogue Warrior (which they also did not have) and they didn't even know anything about that!

Anyway I digress, Muramasa is awesome. Buy it now!

I played this for mere minutes the other night, but saw enough to know that this is right up my street.

I love the combat. It's button-mashy, sure. But it's fluid, instinctive, and looks tremendous. The visuals are just unbelievably lovely. I'm looking forward to playing more on my day off.

I'll also echo what Mr. Ryder said, and say that nowhere is stocking the ruddy thing. It was the same with A Boy and His Blob...Even 'gamers' game stores are favouring the massive amount of Wii tat over the actual good games. For shame.

Back on topic. Muramasa is the tits.

Surprisingly none of the Game Group stores (both online and retail stores) are stocking this.

This is properly one of the best looking games on the Wii, controls ain't too bad - takes a bit of time getting used to the fact jump is 'up' and not a button. Only gripe with it at the moment is no quick save option, and because there are a quite a few random battles (they are short though) you can't really play this for short lengths of time (ie 30mins) and expect to get anywhere.

Yeah the availability of this seems to be fine with the majority of online retailers, I got mine from GAME.co.uk. The in-store availability is a shambles though, in terms of stock and staff knowing about the game.

Was looking to order the NTSC version of this as a xmas treat to myself but both VG+ and Tronix are out of stock, bollocks.

Thats interesting as I checked about 3 weeks ago (wanted to get it from them because of game card points), but couldn't find any trace of it. It was the same with Gameplay.

I thought you could play this with just the wiimote on its own..have I got that wrong..I don't see an option for it.

I'm guessing maybe you have to select something else then use it?

(Can't find my classic controller since I've moved)

No option for Wii-remote only - not enough buttons. You can use remote + nunchuck, CC or GC pad.

Thank you. I started with nunchuck and wiimote and am perfectly comfortable now.

Its mind blowingly good, and I've not even scratched the surface.

It is a gorgeous game, equivalent to playing a Disney movie if I must say so.
