I really want to like this, but the more I play it, the more I think I prefer Bad Company.

I did one cool thing earlier: when I finally figured out how to sort of control the plane I went for the parachute Achievement and as I was floating down I noticed I was near a flag point so steered towards it and saw and enemy marker which made me start throwing my grenades, but as I got closer I realised it was a tank so switched to my bazooka and fired one shot that destroyed the tank before landing, getting the Achievement and taking the flag.

Decided to pick this up as my trial expired, despite the issues...at 20:30 tonight the tickertape updated suggesting they have increased the server count. I didn't have any problems getting a game although I did suffer another crash (and not the fun kind that just kick you back to the menu - this was a full on 360 lockup ).

Was doing so well too, got an eight kill streak and captured a base all on my own!

For the record Myth, I didn't accuse you of any bias, just the forum in general. Apolgoies if you thought I was having a dig.

I was merely pointing out that I think Malc has totally got it backwards, in 6 months NOBODY will be playing this on 360, least not compared to the PS3.

I disagree, but then that's just my opinion.

All I'm saying is that with a much bigger player base of BF1943 players on Xbox 360, and with the Xbox 360 being the console favourite for FPS's due to the controller being better than PS3, or having a superior online service, that I believe a game like this on the 360 will be played more and for longer than on the PS3. Especially if MS advertise the game like they have been doing on their dash' for a long time, or every time DLC/4th level is released, then more casual people are going to know about it on the 360.

Just because there's a huge jump of users back to Halo 3 and COD4 or whatever, doesn't mean everyone does. There's still a huge number of people who play other games than the big hitters and those players that don't go straight on to some other game will stick with BF1943; which will still more than likely be more players than the PS3 when their users jump back to LBP or Killzone 2 (to name only 2 well played online games on ps3 like you have with the 360). Also, to say you can 'always' get a match going on PS3 games is stupid, as there are plenty of games that are completely desolate, just like some games are on the 360. Same with you saying 'nobody' will be playing this on 360 is also stupid; the amount of players may, for a change, be larger on PS3 in 6 months, but a FPS game as big and well done as BF1943 fits perfectly with what the majority of 360 users want and will certainly not be going to the graveyard in half a year.

This is purely my opinion though, formed on the basis of having both a 360 and PS3 with multiformat games which i've played online. In fact, I don't remember Bad Company having more players recently on PS3 than 360. But anyway, i'm not going to start saying you have no experience of the smaller 360 games other than Halo 3 and COD4, or say you're talking ****e when you have an opposite opinion to mine. we both have fair points and i'm just putting mine across.

Played the full game now on PS3, I feel it's a really strong game. A few minor annoyances that I'm willing to put down to some form of latency, for example shooting an enemy in the back with two FULL clips on for them to turn around and kill me with one rifle shot, but on the whole a really fun experience.

Can't get the hang of planes at the moment, but it'll be fun learning!

Oh and Malc, if 5 people are still playing this on my friends list in a months time, I'll concede to you!

Of course I didn't mean "always" or "nobody" as well, it was inference and an exaggeration at bestl. I reiterate though, on Fifa 09 we can't get any more than 5 players, of which they are all my *real* friends, in a game as huge as Fifa, I see no reason why that will be any different on BF1943.

Just look at this very forum, the first play thread...how many games are over a month old? It's rife on the 360 and has been for some time. Just how many people are still playing Street Fighter IV? ONE on my friends list. Oh and calling me "stupid" for my opinion is, in itself, pretty stupid of you. All these so called "hardcore" gamers are just "next big thing" gamers.

I wonder what would happen in reality if somebody tried to fire a bazooka while parachuting? I'd have thought it might be a little bit too heavy to hold onto while trying to pull your cord, never mind firing the thing

Played the tutorial again a few times & I'm getting used to the planes a bit better, altho the bombs are still hard to judge. Even managed to fly under 1 of the wood bridges a few times too!

I wasn't saying your opinion was stupid, it's was just two points where you said 'nobody' will be playing this on 360 in 6 months, and you can 'always' get a game on PS3. You see I took those literally rather than as an exaggeration, which is why I said those points were stupid; now I know you didn't mean those points literally, so I apologise.

Anyway, I've been playing this and am still having connection problems. It's definately working more often now than on the previous days, but still isn't anywhere near being 100% perfect. The quick games work very often, but it's still hit and miss with the join a game with friends option; which i've only managed to get in a game once.

I'll probably get it on 360 as well, but the connection problems being reported are alarming. I had an hour on the PS3 variant, and no problems at all, apart from the aforementioned (percieved on my part) latency issues.

Can't make up my mind which class I prefer. I really like the sniper one, but it's a little annoying how a bullet from a sniper rifle to the chest isn't an instant kill. The game is fast moving, I feel it should reward a sniper shot (which, lets be honest, doesn't zoom in all that far in this game) with a kill, headshot or not.

I've had several full crashes now in game which require a reboot. Bit annoying. Seems to happen fairly regularly now.

Just had my first few goes on and it was a good laugh. There was no problems getting into games or with lag when I played.

It feels a bit like a cut down version of Warhawk to me as it's just so simple to play. It's such a basic which is good but also a little worrying.

They really need to get some more maps out though as it's not going to last long like this. I've got a horrible feeling that the reason it's so cheap is because they're expecting people to end up paying more than a full price game with the DLC.

I thought 1200 was too much for what's on offer. More maps need to become available ala the 48m kills one rather than premium. I guess a map pack might work, but how do you price it? 800 for a single map is too much but 800 for a pack raises questions.
