    Splosion Man [360 XBLA]

I bought this game outright without any trial and i'm glad to tell you that it's definitely worth the points.

My first experience was in co-op mode and it's an absolute riot to play co-operatively with a friend on the same sofa.

The game has a very simple but effective mechanic, it's all about the sploding. You get three splodes until you run out of charge and it's up to you to use your skills to find your way to the end of the level.

Standing on the floor or sliding down a wall recharges your character and you can also have a fourth splode by timing your jumps into a barrel which is deployedvia a switch, this leads onto some great puzzles which need timing and precision from you and your co-op partner and to make things easier, pressing LT counts down from 3 to time your splodes perfectly.

The graphics are great and the characters have .. character! It's very funny to play and watch.

Really worth 800 points, I love it

i really like this, didn't know anything about it so bought on strength of trial.

really reminds me of N+ but with slightly less precise controls

notan easy game, already getting some split second perfect jumps and Eurogamer says the difficulty ramps up.

    nice game.

Brilliant game, although a totally different game but this is making me want to pick up their previous effort The Maw.

I'm glad i'm not the only one finding it difficult in places, it really reminds me of a 16-bit era platformer, apart from this one has checkpoints in place just before the tricky bits.

Just defeated the first boss which took me 14 minutes, jesus christ did it wind me up. Still, made it so much more satisfying taking him down.

Tried it and it instantly reminded me of something from the Snes! Very simple gameplay but very addictive and gets nice and tough in the later stages.

So yeah i bought it straight away after i tried the trial, i espeicially love splosion man himself, all the different ways he runs and his little noises are really funny

So yeah well worth a purchase!

well worth mentioning the co-op mode, its totally different levels and great fun.

we played 2 player local (you can have up to 4 players and go online) and it really adds to the package. its proper co-op and you really have to work together to slingshot jump up to certain areas and time your moves together properly (the 3-2-1 countdown button is genius)

so far I'd say the co-op is more engaging than the very good single player, its as difficult though.

                Amazing. Simple as that.

I can't think of any XBL or PSN game that I've had as much fun playing as this except BF 1943.

It's the best platforming game thats been released in ages, a lot of the sections kinda remind me of the NES Megaman games in their unforgivingness.

I like the Blade Runner reference: "Wake up, time to die!"

this is brilliant, we've played far more of the co-op than single player. its proper co-op too, one of you messes up or dies and there is no way to proceed unless you are right near the end of a level.

I lso like the way that the game is nails hard but if it detects you dying a lot it gives you a 'way of the coward' option, which comes with a lovely graphical dissing for the next level.

                    brilliant game.

Don't know what you guys are on about. I'm finding this game a breeze on single player, did both areas last night.

Thanks for recommending this, tried the demo based on this thread then bought it. Great fun. How long is the game?

There are 50 single player levels and a separate 50 for multiplayer. Plus time trials. So a reasonable length.

Really enjoying it so far. Only up to around 1-15 but have been making sure to get each piece of cake on the way.

Thanks. I'm only on 1-5 or something, so lots to go

The length sounds right for the price.

I'm also loving this, and I very rarely buy Live Arcade games. This is brilliant though.
