    Forza Motorsport 3 [Demo]

This is up now if you search for it (1.25GB).

Just the one track available (Camino Viejo de Monsterrat), a twisty mountain track that's not very wide. It looks great with excellent lighting effects.

    5 cars are available;

    D - Mini Cooper Works
    C - Mitsubishi Evo X
    B - Ferrari California
    A - Audi R8 V10
    R3 - Porsche GT3 RSR

Annoyingly, you cannot edit the controls so I'm not going to play it much but there's a manual + clutch option (LB is the clutch) which is cool to play with.

Replays are still 30fps, but it otherwise looks great and plays just as well as before. Roll on Oct 23rd.

Slick is a word that springs to mind. Plain white menus with lashings of automotive pornography to drool over. Loving the replays, loads of cool angles to watch from.

Are there only 8 cars racing at once?

Menus are a bit dull I thought. Not that it really matters.
The driving felt good, but not very different from Forza 2. I can't see myself getting this at full price. If only it had looked as good as this the first time around (F2).

The clutch was confusing the hell out of me till I checked the settings Oh. I have to do the clutch.

Oh man. Whats the point then? So racing with JGTC cars you only have 7 opponents? Waste of time if you ask me. Im downloading the demo to have a go but I cant think of anything more dull.

Menus remind me a bit of Colin McRae 3 (and 4??) - all white and clinically sterile.

Handling in the Mitsubishi is great.
A nice hustling, bustling track with plenty of twists, turns, ups and downs.

              I like.

Well i certainly wont be buying it based on that demo. Looks nice for sure but its just so dull to play. Only 8 cars just ruins it for me.

It's such a short, tight track that any more would be pointless or overly cluttered, I think.

Well yeah thats a fair point there. But when you get to places like Suzuka and so on.
                    Handling is pretty good though.

If you think this is dull to play you're really going to hate GT5.

I used to love the first 2 GT games. But since I have owned and driven many high performance japanese cars I find these simulations lack any feeling of real driving. There is no excitement whatsoever! I dont think its a bad game. Just lacks any real fun.
I much prefer the like of Grid for my adrenalin rush.

After playing the demo with every single car I must say it's pretty damn good.

The track (especially the road surface) is wonderfully detailed. Same goes for the car models; they're not quite GT5 standard, but screw that because Polyphony take too long to model their cars and Forza's are exceptional for the time they had to do 400 of them. The in-car view is just as pleasent on the eye, with a fully modeled interior which is the best i've seen on the 360. A minor complaint is that the hands don't move much when turning but that's not too important.

The menus are swish and very clean looking which I like. What I don't like is how long it takes to load, bearing in mind this is streaming from the HD like the final game would be (although i'm not sure if how early the demo's code is) it does take a bit too long considering there's only 8 cars and 2 laps. The game seems too good from the demo to avoid playing it purely on load times, but I can see it becoming a bit annoying when you're playing for extensive periods through the career mode.

I have to admit that I was expecting 16 cars to be honest. The demo's track is fine for 8, but like nakamura said, the bigger tracks later on like Suzuka and Silverstone etc. will feel pretty bare at times.

It is brilliant though, I just think I was expecting a little too much from this. However, I will definately be buying it on release.

I can't wait to get home and play this.

Re the comments from some people about it being rather dull, for me this doesn't matter because the real game will only come alive (as in Forza 2) when I take it online. I can't tell you how much the Career mode in FM2 bored me to tears, but it was just a completely different game when racing against other people on this forum.

Plus, all the painting!!! I did an awesome car with Amaterasu (Okami) and a Steve Nash/Phoenix Suns themed car that I sold for millions of 'credits'
