Finished on Hard yesterday and managed to pick up every treasure except one (although because of the weird way the game deals with the Strange Relic, like in Drake's Fortune, I actually have the Master Fortune Hunter trophy).
Played through Broken Paradise several times now but can't see where the last one is.Last edited by C'; 08-08-2010, 13:14.

I've borrowed this game off a friend after having a great time playing u1 but this game isn't really working for me: it's the same game with better leveldesign. all the puzzles and platforming tricks have been implemented in u1 before. Am I missing something as the hype was so big? (don't have acces to the mp part of the game)

I have to agree with the above comments. This is really just the first game only with a lot more polish. No real major gameplay changes other than the counter attack when fighting hand to hand. Im on the bit now where we've discovered the "hidden city" and getting attacked by those big purple nutters.
The game does take you on a roll though, every time I've played I've breezed through about 8 chapters without knowing it and not really getting majorly stuck. I've not searched for the treasures yet as the game tends to stress urgency most of the time which is why I find myself running around like a madman.
If you liked Drake 1 then you'd love this but 10/10 and GOTY comments are over the top IMO. You guys sure you're not just trying to wind your XBOX owning mates up?

Wh are the 10/10 and GOTY comments over the top? Surely it's down to individual opinion and my opinion was that, last year, this was the best game I played. And unless Last Guardian mystically appears under my Christmas tree in December I can't think of anything better than it this year either.

Wow. People are very demanding of their games these days it seems. U2 took an already great game and improved on it in every single area. The result being the best action adventure ever made but apparently that still isn't good enough. I suppose this attitude is good in a way as it stops DVDs from getting complacent. Anyway, I loved it.

not saying it's a bad game, not at all. But after reading so much good stuff about it I expected it to have expanded more on it's gameplay. A lot of the puzzles and situations in this game felt exactly the same as u1 and it was pretty much a breeze to go through it because of that. the level design and scale is really well done, the cut-scenes and voice acting too, but I wouldn't(and of course, liketeddymeow says, it's just an opinion) goty it for that alone. had a great time playing it though and would recommend it to anyone who hasn't played it yet as it's a very accessible and fun game.

Having never played them I bought Uncharted 1 and 2 a few weeks back. I never liked the look of them but I wanted to see what all the fuss and glowing reviews were about. I thought Uncharted 1 started ok but by about half way through I found it very bland and uninvolving. It's even more on rails on that Prince of Persia, the guns physics and general combat is lousy and the story and characters do nothing for me. I grinded through it regardless but the end I was very glad it was over. Not a poor game by any means, just a very average one that is rated too highly imo, despite all it's visual polish.
I had quick go on Uncharted 2 but ground to a halt at some awful stealth section and never went back. Maybe I'll give it another shot, I'm hoping to salvage some enjoyment from this series.

I don't see how anyone can criticise this. Since getting my 360 in April 2008, I only ever used my PS3 for Winning Eleven 10(PS2) and this. There was nothing that kept me off Live except this. It was also the only game the missus actually wanted me to play as she was engrossed by it as well.
Surely the universal appeal counts for something as well?
Every aspect of the original was improved on and in my opinion, it does deserve a 10/10. It's the perfect single player and cinematic experience rolled into one and if Uncharted 3 is even half as good, I'll be buying a PS3 again for sure.

I'm in agreement that it's a brilliant game and very hard to criticise.
I brought it for my brother at Christmas last year and watched him complete almost all of it, enjoying it as much as if I were playing it! In this world of bloody violence, deep meaning symbolism, aggressive swearing and boring characters, it's great to have something this knockabout and light hearted mixed into a familiar but beautifully executed adventure game. Last week, I picked up a PS3 Slim in preparation for GT5 and brought Uncharted 2 as something to play in-between the wait.
I'm stunned by the production values of Uncharted 2. I can't think of one other example where every area is shockingly good and completed to a standard that no other developer has reached. From a lone strand of flags in the Tibetan foothills, the believability of a gold statue embedded into stone work in a church, the way in which a item of clothing is soaked as it passes through water and every movement of every character, the sheer effort Naught Dog has gone to is evident in all areas of Uncharted 2.
The weak points, a sense of adventure that is not as well executed as Tomb Raider, gun combat that is a little soft, climbing design that is a little linear and a few other imperfections are almost meaningless to bring up. The way it infuses all the mechanics and systems together has never been done to this degree and the Indiana Jones influenced story has never been carried off so well with unique and likable characters.
As I played this in 2010, it's up there with Mass Effect 2 for my game of the year. Absolutely essential.

Just got this on LoveFilm and started playing it tonight. Really enjoying it so far. About 10 minutes into the third act. Just realising it's almost two years old but it stands up incredibly well visually. Some ropey areas but for the most part it's stunning. The lighting system they have is to die for. Can't wait to finish this and then join the hype for U3.

Am on my third playthrough (playing crushing difficulty & yes it's a wee bit tougher than hard!). Wow. Amazing game. I loved the first one, this one goes a step further and is a whole lot better in every regard.
Great production, great levels, great everything. It even has a hot Aussie chick in it, so for me, it's all good. I can understand all of the GOTY comments. I love it. Roll on number 3.
