Im actually playing through this again in preparation for the 3rd game, and its my second play through, since I originally rinsed it back at launch those many moons ago.

I think I enjoy all the urban stuff in this game and some of the set pieces are incredible. Plus jumping precariously off buildings to sign boards and have gun fights on them is so exciting! Not overly fussed about the arctic section, especially how it goes somewhat sci fi with the enemies...

But teh Drake character is so typical hollywood hero type, you can't help but think that the Indiana Jones games would have been so good if it was like this...

Currently trying to pick up as many trophies as poss... And ponder which one I'd go for... Elena or Chloe...

Just started playing this again tonight for another hour or so, up to chapter 6 now and loving it. Always something different and exciting to keep you playing. Great variety of gameplay, always some quirky wee one liners to make you chuckle, and climbing/jumping about is just excellent fun in this.

Finally platinumed this baby. Wow some big difficulty spikes on crushing! Didn't really dig the multiplayer element but that's not a surprise as I'm not a pvp type. The co-op was a bit meh. But I can forgive this as the main star is the single player and I can only reiterate how great I thought that this was.

Bring on #3!

Just finished this eventually. Only started it in June and I got it through LoveFilm so a complete waste of money taking so long!

Overall response to it is that the game is awesome. But my god they need to fix some issues for 3:

Extended shootouts that go on for way too long, over and over again. Can get boring at times.

Sometimes not knowing if I'm supposed to be shooting all the guys in the area or doing something else to trigger an event as I'm getting pummelled and not sure if it's possible to actually kill them.

So many sections were just too hard on the regular difficulty as you have to do something in particular to stay alive and you don't know what until you die a few times maybe. But I HATE replaying the same part over and over.

A lot of frustrating sections I think that really annoyed me at times. Maybe I'm just **** but I actually surprised myself with how much I persevered on some difficult bits.

But the whole package made up for these downfalls. The game is gorgeous. There's a lot of variety in environments. The story was cool and kept you interested with lots of twists. Really glad that

So, 18 months ago my PS3 corrupted and in my hasten to get back up and running again I synced my PSN accounts to the wrong email addresses. Hence the reason I now use teddymeowUK.

Out of the blue the other day I realized that meant my progress in this was gone (along with the first game) and I've set about regaining it all again.

Considering it's age Drake's 2nd adventure stands up amazingly well. I'm noticing things on this playthrough that I never noticed upon release. Chapter 6

with the Hind blasting the **** out of the buildings

has some absolutely amazing lighting effects.

As a package this game truly is stunning. Puts many games released since to shame.

After completed U1 I went straight onto the second game and it's so much better. Combat is improved tenfold with a better camera and more combat options. It felt like Naughty Dog didn't really know how to approach the combat in the first game and made a bit of a mess of it. No such problems here though after three hours play. Visuals are amazing, plot is better and overall control is better. Very impressed.

Yeah. It really is one of the best games ever.

Just wait until you get further into it, some of the set pieces are very special.

The first time you climb up the hotel and look around, your jaw is on the floor, i stayed up their 20 - 30 minutes just gob-smacked.

Finished this now and loved pretty much all of it. Visually amazing throughout, great plot, much improved combat and generally great gameplay. It's not quite a 10/10 masterpiece like Resident Evil 4. There is no fear of death and it didn't really raise my pulse at any point in the game, even with some of the spectacular scenes. I'll probably play through it again though.

Gotta disagree nakamura, if this isn't a 10/10 game and probably the stand-out title of this gen, then im not sure what is?

Because it does nothing new. Also there are too many niggly parts. Headshots are not satisfying, stealth and cover is quite sloppy. There are times when you want to get into cover and instead Drake rolls. Also you can't crouch at all which is damn annoying when you want to get your head down to reload but to keep moving but not in cover. Also found sometimes when stood in cover he is too far away from walls which makes you an easy target.

Metal Gear Solid 4 is not better overall than this but the control of Snake is much better than Drake. Snake moves with precision and the gunplay is much better. For this reason I couldn't score it a 10. In reality it would probably be a 9.5.
Also like I said, as cool as some moments were, not once did it put my heart into my mouth.
