Anybody tried the Twitter functionality? Tried to enable it earlier but it wouldn't authenticate properly, and I've confirmed the username and password were correct. :/

I've only played through the first couple of chapters so far but I'm absolutely loving the little tweaks to the gameplay in the first couple of sections. Hopefully there will be some flexibility throughout the game to approach some encounters in that way - which I know is something they've talked about.

And as I mentioned to teddymeow, don't even think of inviting me to MP until I've completed the SP campaign at least once.

Twitter link up was switched off by naughty dog, they said they may patch it back at a later date.

Loving the game so far. The presentation voice acting and visuals are stunning
            However

I`m stuck at the boss at the end of the train section, having filled his noggin with enough lead to make a small missile, along with a few nades, the bastard still kills me with a couple of blows. Kinda makes the balance of the rest of the game so far swing a little.

              Random Question near the start

? When you're with chloe and sully and have to follow the blood trail. Di anyone not get any blood to follow? (I'm using a pal game but a 60gb Japanese ps3)?

I thought they said that they were just disabling it by default. I'll have a search this morning and see if I can find anything, but I'm so petrified looking for information about the game!

                  You need to

soften him up with a couple of grenades and then go in for melee attacks. He'll try to counter you so counter back, then run as far as you can, shoot him, wait for him to chuck a grenade, rush him and melee. Eventually you'll get to a sequence that will finish him off.

                  Simples*

                  *

It actually took me at least 15 tries to kill the ****er!!!

80% of the way through now and still as unbelievably in love with as I was at 1%!!

                    There are some fantastic

                    "boss fights

later on and the scale of some of the locations is utterly amazing.

I was a bit concerned at one point

as it looked like the end (when I thought I was near the end earlier on) was going to turn into a basic retelling of Uncharted 1 but it seems Naughty Dog have played a blinder!

Slightly disappointing to only see 8050 people on last night but hopefully this has sold shedloads and everyone is finishing SP before moving to MP.

I think the thing that really hit me with the game was the quality.

Small things like when you try to solve a puzzle it knows where you will be looking, so gives a hidden path hint , purely by knowing the game so well the devs have crafted the levels to feel fluid & Natural.

Again the visuals, I mean seriously THE VISUALS! Without doubt the best I have seen on any system, and with such great art direction.

I was a bit concerned with the
section, but soon realised it was a pretty generous take on that game dynamic, so it was good fun and no bother.

Take the simplist of puzzles: The pull a lever, a tiny thing in a game, but the idea of it being a follow the wires to a box, and then how do you get to the box is a typical example of polish. Another small detail is the snow. Best feeling of snow since 1080. I honestly just walked around the opening level (Getting treasure for my trouble!) looking at the snow & footprints thinking "Ok when do the footprints fade then?" They never did.

Another special note to the gunplay. It almost took me by surprise (Which was odd considering the first game!) but Gunplay is of course a massive part of the game, & it is implemented to perfection.

You combine these small details & then add the amazing "Wow" moments and what the final product gives (At least after 2.5 hours so far) is just a brilliant "Hollywood Blockbuster" game.

Someone said a great thing earlier, VideoGames may not be considered "Art" but this game shows true "Craft".

I sincerly hope that the team that worked so hard to give us this game read message boards around the world, because they deserve to have a mighty big smile right now.

I sincerely hope this game sells by the bucket load, and with this & Killzone 2 the PS3 is starting to get it's stride for exclusive games. It seems the hardware of the PS3 with it's limited memory, really needs dedicated devs who can code games to the strengths of the machine, rather than do a port of PC/360 code and reduce texture detail to accomodate the RAM issue.

When a dev actually works to utilzie the power of the machine, and then combines that with wonderful gameplay design, just look at what our Black Monoliths can produce!

                      Happy days.

It wasn't widely available yet, and most gamers probably play the SP right now. I expect good sales, Uncharted 1 gradually received more praise and could ultimately be considered succesful. U2 gets even better reviews and attention.

And rightfully so, its the best game of this generation, and for me the most fun since RE4 or so

Only disappointment for me with this is that it's still missing a free for all online mode which is a bit of a shame as I feel it could really benefit from one.

I have a strong dislike for being restricted to teams, especially rubbish ones

Sounds fantastic and i cant wait for it to be delivered. To say though that its disappointing with the amount of people on-line in the game... its not actually due for release untill tomorrow, hence only a small amount of lucky people currently have the game.

A brilliant game, and not that important but when sony announced the ps3 they so say ushered in the 1080p games era, i bought a near ?3000 X series, so why dosent this run in 1080p , you would think sonys flagship titles would, not critical and not naughty dogs fault, just an observation. but the game is astounding.

Bit OT, but what they have managed at 720p is just incredible:

                                BACKGROUND:
1080p native is not really a viable option for games on 360/PS3 that want to use lots of shaders and extras on the visuals.

I believe Sony originally promised dual HDMI slots with Dual 1080p support at the start.

In fairness the majority of us here have said that 720p is the target resolution for 360 and PS3 for the moment, and bear in mind lots of games can't even manage that! (Halo3, Ghostbusters, Tekken 6 etc etc)

The 360 has a wonderful hardware scaler that means you get "Simulated" 1080p with no overhead, the PS3 option is not so good.

A great TV/Projector that does 720p is perfect for now, but with BlueRay being the norm you still get a great value add by having a 1080p screen with a PS3 for films.

So when you think that games as bland as Ghostbusters can't manage 720p on PS3, then you realise how hard the devs have worked to get the most of the hardware and get around the lower system memory, but take advantage of the extra CPU power of the Sony machine.

Regardless of what you think of the game, the visual fidelity and craftmanship in this game are just out of the league of 90% of other devs. *

                                * Who are forced to work multiplatform and just don't have time & money to tune things to make the most of the PS3. Direct code port from PC/360 where you have more RAM will never give pretty results unless they turn effects off, or reduce texture fidelity.

** Just imagine what the PS3 could have done if they had given it more memory! The famous Gears of War presentation to Microsoft: "Here is the game with 256Mb of RAM and here is the game with 512Mb" was a wonderstroke for gamers world wide. Shame they didn't email a video to Sony at the time!
