With Motion blur off on Ps3, I think they are on par with the Arcade. 2xMSAA does cover the otherwise slightly jagged look quite good. 360 version keeps looking rough in any mode and the textures are slightly less.

But its still lame, arcade is supposed to be 720p and the hardware is identical to the Ps3, down to the XDR/GDDR RAM partitions. I mean, Arcade looks and perfoms good with motion blur, yet the Ps3 version is supposed to display motion blur the worst. I do think Namco didn't want a huge difference between 2 console versions, they somehow held back or smt.

Well, tell that to Platinum Games

But Tekken does shine in the graphical department. I do think its beautiful in motion. I was never too impressed with Tekkens animations, but in T6 it all looks good.

The original Tekken 6 arcade board ran at 720P but the Bloodline Rebellion upgrade (on which the console ports are based) ran at a reduced resolution.

Some of the new stages they added in Bloodline Rebellion are really graphically intensive which may have been the cause if that's the case.

It's really disappointing you can't actually pick certain stages unless you get them by random select. There's 3 or 4 of them and I don't think they're unlockable either.

Its the sheep stage, Tomato throwing stage, and another one?

The one with the sheep, Hidden Retreat, is really cool imo. The yodel music is good fun.

I finished Scenario campaign. I honestly liked it. Its a bonus mode and its great for earning lots of cash and equipments. Without it, you'll had to earn cash like in Dark Resurrection which would take you ages. A particular hidden level, was a big pain though. No fun at all. My advice is, choose to unlock Devil Jin after you've finished the first stage

I have this on the 360 and enjoying it. The end boss is cheap (as seems to be the thing to do lately in beat-em-ups). I'm really enjoying the campaign. Is that wrong?

Playing it on 360 as well. Here are some of my garbled first impressions.

First the arcade mode. Standard Tekken fare, but I love Tekken so it's all good. Nothing revolutionary in it, but I've always prefered Tekken to Virtua Fighter (even though VF is a more technical game). There are some obvious cues taken from VF (rank ups, customisation, named oposition), many of which have been there from Tekken 5.

The scenario mode is a stinker. Sat through the first batch of intos and they took so long my joypad switched itself off. I'm now skipping the story as it's awful. I will play the mode through, but the sooner it's over the better. The saving grace of this is the arena mode. 4 short fights and you get a story for the character you play as. The only problem is you can only play this for the characters you have unlocked though the scenario mode.

I've dived into online a bit as well with mixed results. First game got cut off as the connection was shocking. The other 3 I tried have all been laggy to a point, with my normal combos not really responding. I should be trying this aganst a friend who lives less than 20 miles away tonight so hopefully that should work better.

A quick mention for the graphics. At first I was underwhelmed, and while they are not the most amazing they are nice enough. Plenty of nice details in the backgrounds (which are on the whole good) and the main characters look smooth in motion.

More to follow once I play some more.

Nice one lads, thanks for the thoughts, my PS3 version dropped on the mat today (with character cards) so I'll be adding mine later.

Out of interest can you force it into 1080P?

                Edit: No you can't.

                  More impressions!

Just had a wee online sesh with the friend I mentioned earlier and it ran really well. No lag and as good as playing offline. Was only the two of us so didn't test what the lobby was like with more. We have another friend who should be getting this, so will hopefully be able to test a lobby with three soon.

I'm still not enjoying the scenario mode, but at least it makes you get tons of dosh fast.

Incidentally, my friend who bought it has a ps3 and xbox360, and was playing the ps3 version at work (gamestation). He reckons that there is screen tearing on the ps3 version (none seen so far on the 360 one), and he also says that the loading seems more lengthy on the ps3. I haven't seen both versions myself, so I'm just going on his comparison.

There's definitely no tearing on the PS3 one in HD. Maybe they turn off vsync on SD dur to it being 50Hz or something?

Loading times are awful off disk, but fine once you install it. I think 360 is quicker though.

played some T6, really enjoying it as predicted. Online was perfectly fine to me. I had around 10 matches most were lag free a couple had visible lag but were 'playable' minus some combo's I simply couldn't use. the remainder were just outright shocking.

Scenario mode is shockingly bad, and the rest is pretty standard, I see online sucking up lots of free time!

Those of you playing online and saying lag free - are you playing on 360?

I'm on 360, but it has only been lag free playing with my friend who lives about 20 miles away.

For anyone that's played the Campaign Mode:

On the final Jin fight, how in the hell do you beat him? Raven (the useless partner) ends up getting killed really quick! It's ridiculous. Can you go back to levels and pick up bonus power ups for him or is it on purpose he only has like 3 or 4?

I really wish the online wasn't so hit & miss I guess those who want to play this mode without uncertainty should stick to people on their friends list that they know are local.

Just had a quick hour or so...

Graphically it's lovely and it's Tekken so all's good there.

Dipped into Scenario and like it, like all the movies and the story of it.

Things I'm not so keen on are the ranking system which I thought was such a good idea in DR seems to have gone from the offline mode - unless I've missed it.
Loading times are ****e, really bad compared to other versions and where has the option of being able to turn off the character select option on death gone? Makes it really tedious playing against the totally unfair bosses, after being defeated I just want to play the round again with the same player instantly if I so wish.

Oh yeah and the totally unfair crappy bosses.

Not tried online, not sure if I will do to be honest. Team and survival are there so I can see myself playing those to death.
