Haven't played Tekken since the good old days of Tekken 3 so I was chuffed this was coming to the 360, waited ages for it and picked it up yesterday.

I'd have to agree with one of the earlier comments in this thread-what happened to the graphics? They are very underwhelming, the stages look mostly greyish and I was quite disappointed.

However, it was good to be playing a new Tekken and I like the amount of characters available. Will be playing this over the next few weeks to give it more of a chance but I wonder what the hell they spent all that time on.

Ive found (as have most by now i'd imagine) that turning the motion blur off makes it look much better if that helps!

I would also advice to set the display to Type C. Its the Arcade lighting, and its less blurry imo. I play with motion blur on, and Type C. On the Ps3. Looks good.

As far as tactics go, Tekken 6 is quite technical. Bounce adds a lot of combo potential and variation, and instead of making it masher friendly it feels more like VF5 to me. Akira relied on lots of bound juggles too. Those combo's look similar.

I'm trying Kazuya's sample combo's and I have figured the first 4 or 5 out. Its a great way to learn a character imo. Its still way too hard for me to pull off EWGF consistently though

Got this yesterday on PS3. Campaign mode is a laugh (always liked the silly Tekken storyline for some reason! ). Tried a bit of online but the whole thing was lagging and moving in slow motion. Not sure if that was because of our rubbish slow broadband connection here at home or if it's just that the online mode is a bit poo...

Street fighter for example you have your "moves" and specials, but what you do in between them and what not is up to you, forming your combos etc, Where as tekken, its always an exact chain of inputs you need to enter to get the combo, at least thats the impressive i got from playing tekken, you cant like mix it up freely.

So from a player technical stand point, how is that more appealing than sf for example? Im not arguing one is better than the other, im just curious to hear from long time tekken fans. (i like the games myself too but never given them serious interest like i have sf/blaz etc)

There are some pretty big differences in the fundamentals between 2d and 3d fighters in general so it can be hard to make the transition from one to the other if you've only ever played one kind seriously.

What your referring to are the chain/canned combos. These can have lots of different variations and some can end with a delayed attack which can be used to bait them into attacking early or substituted for something else. These type of combos are only a part of the game though there are plenty of important single strikes and many other elements. Juggles, stun combos and wall combos are completely free form so you can do what ever you want provided it reaches them. What is different in Tekken's juggles specifically is that you don't have much leniency when it comes to buffering inputs.

Overall I actually find SF4 far more restrictive in terms of your options in a lot of ways compared to VF5 or T6. Blazblue seems to put quite a lot at your disposal though.

ps3 version looks much nicer than the 360 version which i am fairly surprised (and grateful)

shame you cant unlock the original Tekken 6, infact, is there any thing to unlock?

Thought I read somewhere that some of the minigames where in there but could be wrong.

If I am then it seems it's just the character animations.

Finished scenario mode yesterday - got luck with Devil Jin and juggled him off the side of the train on the first combo.

Loved geting the power ups and waiting to see if I got a good one - health increase of over %300 was a welcome, that's for sure.

Upto 84% on the trpohies and I only started last wedensday - thought I was going to have a much tougher time.

Set lighting to C and much better, really loving the visual style now after the initial 'low res' shock.

Def converteed to stick playing and going to be on this for a while.

@MrKirov-yeah, I already had the motion blur turned off when I posted those initial opinions.

I got the time for some more play last night and I think I was a bit harsh in my first post. Loving the Tekken gameplay but my skills need brushing up after not having played Tekken for years.

Jin is still my main character, he's lost his spinning jump kick which was one of my most used moves.

Couldn't get past the last boss yesterday, gonna play some more tonight. Glad I purchased it now, too bad one of my mates has moved further away from me would've got lots of good 2 player sessions out of him.

Can people please provide more info on the online aspect especially on Xbox Live? My gold account has lapsed and I might renew it for this title but if there's considerable lag I wont bother.

I found putting the motion blur with type c gives the best visual results on PS3 (havent tried Xbox version)

How cheap and annoying is Azazeal? I swear Jinpachi wasnt this ****ty'n'cheap, I still cant beat him by being cheap in return as he takes far less damage than normal characters!!!

Loving Kazuya right now, he's been one of my faves since Tag. Cant do his 2nd juggle to save my life at the moment. his 3rd ones easier. Just wish I could pull off EWGF's at will like the masters can

I remember Jin and devil jin were considered cheap players in most hardcore circles (things might've changed now, not sure) due to they being so over powered.

Is not that Azazel is cheap, he seems to have been designed to block everything. You can only really do damage on him when he has just finished an attack.

I completed the entire scenario campaign yesterday, even defeated Devil Jin on Nightmare Train. Just rinsing through the arena now to unlock all the endings.

Quite liking this, for me its the first Tekken to 'feel' like Tekken since Tekken 3. The scenario mode is ok too but I wish the old Arcade mode with endings wasn't tied into it.

im really liking this, but cant for the life of me beat Azazel at all, with any character...

                                On Scenario Mode laruso?

If so, i do really recommend you set it to easy, 30 seconds and one round in the options. Otherwise it would take you forever to unlock all the endings.

My method is to get a couple of hits in, then keep walking back. He rarely throws or low attacks.
