One thing I didn't realise is that it comes with a seperate CD (which I'm pretty sure is the OST) in it's own seperate case, pretty cool addition and makes me feel a bit better about the LE that's coming out over here.

Hurry up and install damn you!!
The CD is a six track sampler of the OST which was given away with some pre-orders, but it does come in a nice case.

The OST is a 5 disc behemoth

I also noticed on visiting The Gates of Hell one time that Moonlight Sonata was playing, Jill wasn't playing it tho

I finished this game on Normal, but saved my Hard replay over the old one. 250k of rings gone, it seems.

But this was one hell of a game. Right down to the ending credits and beyond. The references to Sega classics are quite brilliant. Outrun, Space Harrier, Eggman... any more?

EDIT: My mistake, I haven't been following the 360 release, so when you said Sega, I assumed you meant their PS3 port. Some searching reveals that you can't region-lock PS3 games. Thank **** for that.

Put about 5 hours into this now and still haven't scratched the surface. I'm too drawn to using the Katana at the minute becasue if it's power and not mixing it up - there's just so much to take in!

One thing I'm a little disappointed in is that there's no record/goal for finished levels. I know your scores/grades get uploaded to the leaderboards but I loved having a breakdown of levels in DMC and what my rank was for that level, I used to base which levels I took on through this...Probably an OCD thing, loved SS them ranks!

Also does anyone know why when you play through a level, at the end when it gives you your score, sometimes there are gaps where medals should be...? Does this mean there are different ways/routes to do a level? I don't like the idea of missing sections!

              Nope.
              Only the 360 version.

              There is.
You've got to complete the game first. Then during the pre level, hit R1 to bring up the menu, then it's under 'Play History'
This will give you a breakdown of all your grades from all difficulties. To view more specific stats, click on the stage you want, and then it will give you a breakdown of:

              - Highest Combo
              - Total Time
and all the graded medals earned during all the Verses within that Chapter, with the times it took for you to complete that particular Verse.

Those gaps are the hidden Verses or 'Alfheim' portals that litter the stages. Some hidden stages can be earned, by just back tracking through a stage. For example, on Chapter 1/ Verse #2, once that has been completed, backtrack all the way to the elevator that brought you up to higher Vigrid. then the next verse will commence.

Alfheim portals are often found the same way.

Has there been any confirmation that Sega will be tweaking the PS3 port for its western release?

Maybe via patches since I have the feeling that Sega already has a boatload of PAL and US versions of this, just being held back for MW2.

But about 10 hours into this now, still loving it!! The mix of DMC and VJ is quality.

Can anyone tell me the difference between a deflect and counter when using the Moon of Mahaa-Kalaa, is it just a timing thing? Half the time I do one thing and half the time I do another.

There's still so much to do but I can't stop myself revisiting The Vestibule to brush up on new skills and techniques.

Having trouble with the Uppercut and Warp techniques, can anyone shine any light on exactly how these work? It says in the menu that it's hold R trigger and press Y/B but they only seem to come out half the time (it takes a couple of magic points to perform right?) and when they do come out they come out into space and hit jack sh!t, anyone got any tips?

Up to chapter 10 on Normal and can safely say that it's quite tough! Enemies can wipe off half your health in one combo, so you always have to be on the ball! Luckily it has a very good checkpoint system so you're always moving forward.

From what i gather, it seems to be a timing thing. Where if you counter properly, it would initiate Witch Time. Otherwise, it would just be a standard counter.

You do indeed need to have some magic stored up to use this properly, as the perfect Witch Twist/ Umbran Portal Kick uses the Wicked weave. They would usually lock onto the nearest foe.

Apparently, my costumes are lost. I saved a new game over my cleared save, Hard remains selectable.. but the guns and costumes (a supposed mirror in Rodin's menu)... nada. So.. don't overwrite your cleared save it seems.

But it doesn't matter! I'm replaying it much more efficient now. Missed the ice skates the first time through, they are a blast. I'm farming for the Gaze of despair to try the farming technique later on. Entered Chapter 7 for now.

Hard by the way, is borderline ridiculous. I managed to beat the Prologue after 10 retries or so. Its sick. Enemies attack twice or 3 times as fast and hard and the type of enemies the game already throws at you... insane. I've beaten DMC4 on SoS mode and quit halfway through Dante Must Die, I think Bayo's Hard is harder than DMD... at least in the beginning it is.

I'm interested to see how the harder difficulties stack up...I finished DMD mode but I had to start using items to get me through levels, which is why I'm saving that stuff up at the minute

So, Saturn, are you saying that when you start again on hard do you not retain anything from your previous playthrough?

Indeed. But it seems that you can change diff. at the Chapter menu so just load your old save and change from there I guess.

I can imagine that you'll need them Yellow lollipops for this hard mode.

Got to play this at last! My new J-360 arrived yesterday so today I've spent a bit of time on it.

Loving this - really, really loving this. So slick, smooth, responsive, and fun. Everything I wanted from DMC4 but way way more and feeling very fresh throughout. Cut scenes are even enjoyable currently.

I know it gets banded about a lot, but definitely up there as a GOTY contender for me.

From this article, it seems that SEGA are 'working' on it. Though, don't expect a quick fix.

Only recently read about this uber-combo, and have been trying it out recently. Quite frankly, it's beastly. It requires you to have Durga on your feet on weapon set #1 and Lt. Kilgore on your feet for weapon set #2. Doesn't matter really what you have for the hands, but preferably something quick like Shuruba, so you can get to the kicks portion quicker.

It's essentially the P>P>P>K combo (starting off with weapon set #1) and as soon as the flurry of kicks start, quickly switch to weapon set #2
By doing so, you unleash a whole barrage of Kilgore rockets. Devastating.

It's the very first combo in this video.

Now, some payback is due for Grace & glory...
