Yeah, Mutations is available on the 360 version but you need The Passing DLC to access it.

I picked this up for the first time like I knew I would once it came down cheap, and what a game. They have really built upon the first L4D to make this a worthwhile sequel (which I didn't believe after just playing the demo when it came out).
The game is terrific fun, and the zombie decapitations really add to the fun and humour of the game especially when using the brilliant melee weapons (anyone else start the game with a crowbar?).
I must state that I am playing this on the 360, and after buying every Valve game on the 360 and playing them to death, it's finally nice to see Valve fully supporting this game with everything official the PC version has. The weekly news and voting system, as well as the weekly mutations mode really feels like you are buying L4D2 as a service than as a game.
I have yet to actually buy The Passing DLC, as I have yet to finish the main campaigns on my own before I get some online action with it, and I was also wondering how long the weekly mutations modes are planned to last? I think they are on their tenth week or so, and if they are planning to go on for some time, then I will definately pick up the DLC.

Mutations mode for this week is versus survival. One team sets a time whilst fighting the special infected of the opposite team, then the other team tries to beat it, then it all repeats untill a team doesn't last as long as the previous teams time.
Also next weeks mode is four swordsmen... I may have to purchase the DLC now.

Spent half an hour on the new DLC released yesterday and very early impressions are it seems very good and better than 'The Passing'. I noticed it also includes the 'No Mercy' chapter from the original Left For Dead which is a nice touch. Should be quite interesting playing through that on Expert with all of L4D2's new special infected, weapons and gameplay tweaks/refinements and comparing it to the original experience in L4D.

I think it's just because Valve want to stay true to the fiction they are building around the series. Have you read the comics, they are ace.
Who, what, when, where???
Didnt realise they had fleshed (Fleshed...see what I did there) the story out with a series of comics
Shame I've never played the games but I'm definitely going to hunt the comics down

Originally posted by Tig View PostSomeone just pointed out that, right now, L4D2 on Steam costs about as much as the new DLC on 360. And the cheapo Steam version includes every bit of DLC and gets every future update free...
