Completed The Sacrifice last night and it's good but very short, shorter even than The Passing which it ties in well with - indeed those who

stumbled sadly across Bill's sorry corpse in The Passing and wondered over the circumstances of his demise

need wonder no more, all is revealed, and revealed firsthand.

As an addition to L4D2 I thorougly recommend it, it's a well designed and memorable setting, but I don't know whether it's worth the points. Like all L4D/L4D2 DLC, it's all too clear from the length that it was designed first and foremost as free content. Damn you Microsoft for tarnishing everything you touch. Money go to hell...

I've finally got round to playing this.

Is there actually a story to it, where you can plough through in single player mode?
I want to go through it all myself first before doing it properly online.
I completed the first chapter, after that there was now save function to carry on with.

I haven't played L4D2, but I can tell you from L4D that playing these games in singleplayer is usually the wrong way to do it.

The "singleplayer mode" is just the four-player mode with three annoying bots.

Each chapter is self contained and playable from the start, just select the one you want. It's a game designed to be played multiple times, and although there is a story, it really isn't any deeper than, 4 survivors trying to survive. It's perfectly playable in SP, but not on any difficulty higher than Normal really. It's great to get a feel for the levels before jumping into MP, which is where the game really comes alive.

As jimmbob said you have to run through in SP to learn the basic layouts of each level first, as things move very fast online. Once you know roughly where to head there's not much point in revisiting SP.

Does anyone know if Valve will be releasing all the original L4D1 maps for L4D2 on the 360? As I noticed that The Sacrifice includes the No Mercy campaign, and Valve are doing poll votes in the blog section regarding the Blood Harvest campaign.

Any of you lads still playing this and up for some campaign?

Absolutely adored the first and played it every Sunday evening for many a month. Got the second and was thoroughly underwhelmed so shelved it; took it out the other evening and whilst I enjoyed it the game just isn't right with bots.

                  Hey Peter.

The Passing DLC is half-price this week on Live if you're playing on the 360.

I still play it every so often, but there's always people on Live.
