guy how do you use the first aid packs? during a fight im using them but nothing seems to happen

Equip a First Aid Kit on someone, then press Select, I think, to bring up the list of items. Select one then target the person to heal then fire it off, wait for the charge to complete. Can only be used in dungeon areas or during battle. Except for Perfect Aid which you can use from the menu wherever you are.

I started this the other night and was really enjoying it until last night. After playing for an hour and not saving I was on my way to the

Forest of Idols

and entered a hex that was glowing red. It is an optional combat and I could not beat it. I kept getting crushed by an enemy covered in barrel armour.

I read a bit on the internet and it appears that they are well above my level and should be ignored. It won't let me use an Escape Hex to get out so I was totally stuck and had to turn off, losing all my progress. Seems pretty bad to let you into an inescapable combat you can't win without letting you save first.

I'm going to give it one more session and decide whether to throw in the towel or not. I quite like the world and characters and the combat is really unique and impressive so I want to play it but last night was really frustrating.
