Can anyone with the UK version check and confirm that it has a language select option? If it doesn't, can you change your PS3 language to French and see if it auto-selects?
There's some humorous text jokes in here, and I really don't want to miss out on them because it's French only.
Thanks!

Well, got it today and just completed the first couple of temples. As an old retro head, all I can say is, what a lovely wee game! Love the style of it, and the gameplay just fits in so well with my gaming past. I get the feeling it won't take long to finish, and i'm glad I didn't pay more than £20, but it's just a charming little thing.

Well, I uploaded Vyse of the Blue Rogues, but then i found this:
No licensed material or characters of any kind, even if they are the intellectual property of Atlus or appear in titles published by Atlus U.S.A.,Inc.
Having just checked their page, whoever at Atlus was uploading them didn't notice someone cheekily put up the main guy from Cave Story.
Is there an unofficial website hosting files of characters which breach copyright?Last edited by Sketcz; 22-05-2010, 16:12.

Two temples done. Enjoying it a lot. I spotted a
Blue Dragon
! last night but accidentally exited the area and when I went back it was gone :-(
The
Queen Bee
boss was a bitch for a few attempts but in the end I just blew her up with a couple of bombs and about 4 swords strikes and she went down in about 30 seconds.
Can't wait to play more. This should have been a PSP game IMO though.

Oh yes! I forgot to mention the old 8-bit I don't know what to do shenanigans! I hit triangle hoping for a quest log lol! You can't leave this game for more than 24 hours else you'll have to start again
Does anyone else think that when you go to a healing temple the game just kinds flashes the screen and makes an audio glitch? Seems like it's broken to me.

Didn't know what to make of this initially...definetly felt a bit disappointed at how it just IS Zelda.
I'm actually finding the graphics a little disappointing. The style is obviously immense, but I'd have liked a few more flourishes and details in the world. I know it's being retro, but it still feels a wee bit half-baked and palette swapped.
The more I play it though, the more fun it becomes and the more I admire how faithful it is to 8-bit gaming. Stuff such as the quicksand conveyor-belts are the kind of nifty yet frustrating feature you'd find back in them days. Even the difficulty and lack of hand holding is just spot-on.
I love the giant sword mechanic too. It's dead satisfying to biff a whole screen of enemies with just one swipe. Which also makes me think they should have thrown more enemies on screen.
Fun stuff so far.

Both the US and Euro publishers are/were running competitions for characters, but stipulate no copyright characters.
So Hardcore Gaming 101 is running a COPYRIGHT COMPETITION to see who can create the best copyrighted game character.
The first prize is the official Japanese 3D Dot Heroes Soundtrack CD.
I made Vyse, as you can see.

Jesus pole-vaulting christ. The Fire Temple was hard.
I must have hit retry some 20 times before doing it. Those fecking enemies that instantly deplete all your magic and leave half a block of health. G'rargh!
Actually took a time-out to ease my nerd rage and explore the world. This game really shines when you're just having a little wander. Sooo many hidden goodies and neat touches of humour. It was the first time I'd not just headed straight to a marked area, and managed to discover the use of those mini-blocks, find the bestiary (which is purebtw), lengthen my wire rod and play a pretty darn good tower defence mini-game.
It's gone from 'nice little game' to something quite special.
Sketcz, I'll be having a go at HG101's character comp for sure. I just made a handful of Katamari cousins that I'm quite chuffed with.
