I've only chased down a few agility orbs, they aren't too bad once you are higher level as you obviously run alot quicker and you air control when jumping is much better.

One thing I have noticed which concerns me a little is that the orbs aren't very evenly distributed around the world (over half of them are in the demo area) I was going further afield to what were boss hideouts and often there were none there, as if those parts of the map literally serve no purpose anymore.

I'll be darned as to how you get up the agency tower, I'm almost maxed out for my agility and wasn't even close!

I had a go on the Arena mode (16 player competitive) but could only find 4 players.

I reminded me lots of the multiplayer from Bionic commando, huge sprawling skyscraper based maps but killing someone just seemed to be a case of seeing them from behind and chasing them until you got close enough to actually shoot them.

That or finding a helicopter and being untouchable.

In the story there appear to be 2 main missions types
          • Capturing a cell stronghold which entails getting to a specific marker on the ground and then killing every single unit within a certain radius.
          • Defending a sunburst beacon, this requires you to drop into an underground cavern which is infested with Freaks and defending it and yourself from their onslaught.

Before activating a sunburst becon it requires you capture 3 energy absorption units, but this only involves killing 3 or 4 people then standing in a specific spot.

So in terms of improvement for campaign longevity/variety I'd say there was actually no improvement and if I'm quite honest I'd actually say that the variety of locations that the gang leaders hideouts offered in the first was was probably better.

Whether or not you play Crackdown for the campaign mode or not is down to you I suppose though, for me I'm looking forward to clearing the city of people shooting at me and freaks running at me so I can just concentrate on leaping around and collecting things in my own sweet time.

I'm getting it from Gamestation, would have loved having the extra agents from Game but i prefer the metal tin in GS.

I just cracked the campaign missions (10 hours ish) , the end was rather anti climactic to be honest, an FMV replacing something I could of done myself.

Also had a very similar 'twist' to the first game but it was actually even limper.

The story seems to of been forgotten about for the ending, I assumed that CD2 was addressing the lack of narrative that the first game had and this one was certainly better but still lacked focus.
Perhaps more of the story is told through the audio tapes that I haven't found yet

I've only played it for an hour, but the reasons why I did not buy the first game feel like they're still applicapble here.

The Edge and Giantbomb reviews are somewhat diffrent but both mention my feelings towards the series.

Crackdown 2's open nature can lead to some cool moments, but even the cool moments feel like they were lifted directly from the previous game.

I'm willing to play on and see what else is on offer but I've already got cold feet.

Crackdown 2 is on its way to me via Amazon, but I haven't played the demo yet. Are the achievements in the demo also available in the game, or are they demo exclusive achievements that only appear when you insert the main game disc.

In short, will I miss out if I haven't played the demo first?

nah they are all in the full game, they just unlock in the full game if you had got them already in the demo.
