Still downloading the 360 version at the mo, but from the 700 odd MB PS3 version, I can only assume that the 360 one compresses the cutscenes somewhat. Just a guess mind you until it finally finishes so I can find out.
now that i've played the PS3 demo i can confirm the cutscenes look better... which is most probably due to uncompressed video here. will wait for a proper review to decide which version to get.

Usually i would go for the 360 version, but i much preferred using the ps3 pad for playing this. Makes a change, i rarely buy games on my ps3 anywho.

Been too busy to play this properly, but gave it another try today - still loving it, though only one checkpoint for the boss battle seems pretty harsh. Still haven't beaten him yet. Yes, it is very easy to dodge all his attacks if you can see them coming, and all it takes is one screwup with the camera on the instant-death laser and splat. I'm sure expert players can take him apart in seconds - we don't all start out that good.

            Quite.

I had to wait a day so I could get the JPN version of the demo and I've only played the tutorial so far, but I already feel I'll like it more than Bayonetta.

I can't get anything on day one due to postage from Japan and such, but I shall probably pick it up pretty rapidly.
            Kept you waiting, huh?

Just played both demos and it's superb! Never before have I realised how much I loathe the dualshock pad though, the game felt utterly awkward on PS3, even once I'd change to control type A I was still having to think about what buttons did what and all the while dealing with those god awful analog stick for aiming. But I boot up the 360 version and it's like I've had the game for months, sliding around from cover to cover picking off enemies at distance without even thinking about what my hands were doing. Cracking boss fight by the way, got me with his lasers of doom a few times but I nailed him perfectly on my 4th attempt

Yeah so where is your energy/life bar? How can you tell how close to death you are?

It's your 'boost bar' isn't it? From what I understand that represents the 'health' of your suit so taking damage, boosting and melee attacks will overload it and leave you vunerable.

I am hearing its a slight disappointment against Bayonetta and their other 'clover' games? can this be true. I better check the demo i suppose. Sounds a great concept though. Gears of War with stupid OTT moves and less Dom.

It's a bit "Western" compared to the other games.

                          It's very different to Bayonetta.

                          Mikami = Win!

I'm interested to see if Platinum stick with SEGA or move to a different publisher. Maybe EA Partners like Suda 51 has.

definately a top game this, PS3 version seems better all round I think.

                              From Eurogamer

Platinum Games is on a mission with its upcoming shooter, Vanquish. In the wake of the disappointing reception offered to the third-party PS3 conversion of its last title, Bayonetta, the developer has switched to the Sony platform as its lead console.

Downloaded Vanquish last night and must say like many others I didn't have a clue what the hell was going on at first (mainly because I've never played a Gears of War type game) but after a few trieds I figured it out and loved it to bits!

I got the 360 version and do think it looks stunning. Very polished with great controls. I'm not sure why people compare it to Bayonetta though. They're completely different games. It doesn't matter if they're made by the same team.
