    FIFA 11 [Demo]

Just grabbed this from USA PSN. Going to get the Xbox 360 version when it's up as I don't like the Dual Shock sticks.

Demo is 3 minute halves and thankfully a rematch option as soon as the game finishes.
The stats screens are lifted from the Euro/ World Cup versions. As usually they do seperate styles for stats. But this year, they've made the right choice and stayed with the World Cup format.

    Teams are:
    Real Madrid
    Leverkusen
    Chelsea
    Barcelona
    Juventus
    Lyon

    Stadium is:
    Bernabeu

Only other thing (from a football nerd kit editing point of view) they've included long sock (Thierry Henry/ Cristiano Ronaldo) and short sock (Totti/ Makoun) variations.

Also new is at the end of the game you can see a few highlights from the game (mainly goals and misses) where if you didn't grab the replay then, you can now upload after the game for your pleasure. No option yet to store to HDD, but no doubt the retail release will have something. Also during the match, it'll give random player stats (located underneath the score icon) such as how far they've ran/ shot accuracy/ pass accuracy.

But yeah, pretty much FIFA really. Not that much could be said. Probably plays a little slower than last year.

Big fan of how the passing has been tweaked. Actually reminds more of how PES2011's has been implemented. No more supreme-being ping-pong passing from the back line to front.

It is a slower pace and I think this is down to the change in the passing system. I welcome it.

Seems a little congested in the midfield, similar to FIFA WC, so that will take a little getting used to.

Overall another solid footy game from EA. They didn't need to do much in terms of gameplay tweaks, but they've listened to the fans about the main gripes and it seem like they've listened well.

The big question for me here is do the keepers still rush at every chance or do they hang back & only rush when you make them??

I hope there's atleast a way to stop them, I used to hear that tapping Y once on the old game would keep them on there line, it didn't.

Nah, they stay rooted to the spot, until you call them. Been trying to do the lob exploit, so that's been fixed.

              Excellent news.

That was my biggest problem with '10 glad that's been fixed now

Really looking forward to getting my hands on this now.

It was fixed in the world cup game too.

Is there some way to play as keepers in the match? Couldn't find it if so.

It's fun as hell playing as Cech in the training arena though, love it. My positioning is a bit rubbish but it means I'm pulling off some awesome wrong-footed saves, it looks class!

A couple of new things I like.
I hate the custom celebration thing. But when you do them this time, other members of the team will jump and pile on you. Once I tried to run to the corner flag to do my thang, and before I could leave the 6-yard box and do my Micheal Jackson dance, I bumped into another team mate, and he wrestled me to the ground. then the pile on.

                    Also, when doing slide tackles.
Before, when you pressed slide tackle, they will always do the slide come what may. Now, if you do a slide tackle and win the ball you can keep your footing and not go fully to ground and on yer arse. I presume better defenders will do this better than others.

                      This is excellent.
Shooting is awesome, they really swing into a shot now and the ball can dip nicely. Jostling is superbly implimented. Passing is tough. Heading is decent. Keepers are better.

                      Great stuff.

You can play in the arena if you press back and then select sides. Bugger if I know the controls though, was amusing enough chasing after him and going down to feet.

Left stick to move, right stick to dive!

How to play as a keeper:

putting the arena in the demo is a great idea, gives away none of the full game but lets you really get a feel for things.

I could never resist in spending a few mins smashing in shots and doing tricks in the previous version, never got bored of doing it every time I loaded it up

The CPU opponent is refusing to shoot a bit here Fine by me for the result, but not really. Everyone is very touchy feely too. Overall still good
