It would take away any real sense of danger if that was the case and you just respawn where you die, it'd be the equivalent of hammering F5 on PC games, same goes for the timer, it gives a real sense of urgency to it all, some of the best moments i've had with Dead Rising are when you have 3 case files, just over an hour to do them in and you manage it by the skin of your teeth.

On average you should be able save at least every 15 minutes anyway, as for the bosses, most you can just walk away from and come back later, same goes for the one that smurfy ran into.

After reading all the coments I tend to concur.

There are some ways I think it is inferior to the first one - less polished graphics, more generic psychopaths and no overtime mode.

But other ways I think it excells - combo weapons, much much better AI, size of playing field and variety in the environment.

And there are plenty of ways in which it is the same but if you love it, this ain't no big thing.

But I WISH they could have doen something with the loading times inbetween areas, that us one area where I expected definite progress over the original.

The one playthrough I have done is not enough to truly judge the game yet so after I have caned it and uncovered everything I'll probably post again but overall a thumbs up from me and I do tend to agree with he review scores it is getting of 7s and 8s.

Nice one! I was hiding behind the screen by the door, trying to take pot shots with the sniper rifle!

Will try your advice out this evening sometime.

            enjoying this

main gripe is that most of my time seems to be spent watching a loading screen...

No worries, it took me a while to work that one out myself, kept thinking you had to beat them by

blowing up all of the floor

to begin with, wasted a good hour until I tried the other method.

I messed up my first run on the very first case.

Tried to do too much and didn't make it to the designated location for the end of case 1-4.

Stupid mistake sees me restarting at Lvl 9... Oh well - it is a lot easier when you know where people are! If you actually plan the route properly you can get a good group of survivors in tow with minimal fuss and little wasted time.

Feeling the DR love again - the time constraints are so stressful!

Sorry, meant to say 'infinite mode' - been a long time since I played the first one and sold my 360 since then.

Also - sorry for the double post but, are the bosses not all marked as case locations now?

I haven't run into one by accident yet.

Yeah they still appear as case locations.

Some of the messages you receive regarding cases to investigate are a little cryptic, so you're never entirely sure whether it's some lost survivors or a psychopath you're running into.

Later on in the game, some psychopaths aren't specifically mentioned but receive a cut-scene of their own to highlight their presence.

I have found the balance of them in general to be all over the place, some being beaten very easily and some requiring significant changes to my weapon and health strategy.

its kinda the same in the original

there is a boss in the hardware store and another store quite close (cletus & cliff) i image if you took them on quickly without leveling up they would be almost impossible, stubled across them by accident and i thought they were tougher than some of the big bosses

                          plenty more as well

I got a lot of **** for the score I gave this, but it's comforting to see people seeing the game I saw.

So many people play it for an hour and tell me I'm wrong, but the longer your play it...you realise just how bad it can be at times.

Don't get me wrong, I still like the game and think it's fun.

                              Great fun altho im

finding it so rushed, the missions and there is not enough time to do them all unless you sprint non stop , and it wont let you stop and mess about if you do this. would you reccomend story 1st play through then 2nd playthrough messing about and side missions?

if you havent played it on the xbox360 you wont know that the game is impossible to do in 1 sitting so youve got to pick and choose which missions suit the best result

dont know about the second one, but its impossible to complete the original 100% on a play through, some people you save will cause others to perish

hence the multiple play throughs and leveling up, its been a while but you had around 56 survivors and the most you could ever achieve on one play through would be around 53 or something close to those numbers

looking forward to playing it, absolutely loved the original and remains only 1 of 2 games ive got the maximum gamer points (other being graw)
