    Dead Rising 2 (Xbox 360/PS3)

Picked up PS3 version from my local indy. Great fun so far.
I haven't played all the way through case zero yet so not sure how it all ties in yet.
The number of zombies on screen is even more impressive than the original. There is some minor slowdown here and there on the PS3 but it's unnoticeable after a while. Other than that the graphics are great. Nice variety in the different zombies and the types are located quite well. The blackjack tables in the casino have zombie croupiers and there are a few zombie showgirls near the theatres.
I played the first chapter and that took me about 2 hours or so. This should have been shorter but I kept forgetting to save. You have to visit the loo to save as there is no autosave. I spent about 40 minutes on missions only to die and get sent back. It's so much fun mashing zombies though that I didn't mind.
Online mode is a laugh but won't be a stayer. It's 4 player vs in a set of 4 random mini games. These are running man style game show games. I played 3 online matches and each time there was a new mini game or 2. Once you play them all though the appeal will drop.
Couldn't try co-op out as no matches open but I am sure it will be great playing this with a mate.

I don't get why the menus are so laggy in this game. Like when I press save...it hangs for about 10 seconds, then starts to save.

Been playing this for a couple of hours now, If you loved the first you will love this to as It is very similar but bigger in everyway.

Gameplay it`s more of the same and hasn`t strayed to far from the formula which made the first very enjoyable. I`m liking the characters alot on this one to and am prefering chuck to frank. You also feel quite a connection to his daughter katey to lol.

I`m playing this through like the first to. Don`t bother with the case files on first play through and just enjoy exploring, rescuing folks and smashing some zombies in along the way. When I`m leveled up on the next go through I`m gonna hit the case files. But I`m going out my way to find the zombrex for katey though as I don`t want her to die lol

As for saving I don`t have a problem, theres plenty of toilets and are clearly signed on the map. Just as long as you carry some food on you, you shouldn`t have a problem.

Overall great sequel upto yet, bigger and better which is what you expect from a game like this.

I almost wet myself laughing when I found the childs bike.

After Case Zero's cart which would get stuck and tip over at the slightest hint of a kerb, I sat Chuck on it and took a run up at some stairs, fully expected to come to a crashing halt.

Instead he went right up, over the landing at the top and down the other side, straight into the water feature and down the massive watery ramp at speed, pinging his bell as he went.

Dead Rising's at its best when it's this daft.

Anywhere to get the PS3 version cheapish yet? This might be the first time I've bought a modern game in ages.

Spent last night on this and loving it, the first game made me buy my xbox.

I take on board the critiscisms regarding loading and rough edges but I am happy with the finished product and looking forward to spending some serious time exploring all the little things hidden away via multiple playthroughs ala the first game.

Oh and the combo weapons are a BLAST!!!

If anyone wants a co-op buddy, just friend request me on PSN, MatWoods is my ID.

Never played Dead Rising 1. Enjoying this a fair bit so far, biggest annoyances are how fast weapons wear out and the fact it feels the game is rushing me all the time (was there any good reason to force Zombrex to be taken during a very narrow time period?)

If you find some magazines, you can increase the durability of the weapons. However they do take up an additional spot in your inventory. Was spending most of last night getting through Case 0 and all of its achievements, absolutly loved it. Can't wait to get stuck into this tonight.

It's kinda surprising how much better it is in co-op. Had a real problem getting any kind of multiplayer pre-release for review (obviously I guess) but having someone jump in (even though they didn't seem to know what they were doing) was much more fun.

The online competitive though, it's not going to last five minutes. The mode itself is short and sweet but it takes up to 10-15 minutes to get a game as no bugger is playing it. I thought perhaps more people might be on it by now but nope.

In-game there's some severe lag at times in co-op as well which is disappointing, it's not there in single player either, so that's a real shame.

The other thing is that playing through it again knowing what to avoid and what to spend time doing makes it a far less frustrating experience as well.

Anyway, I'm JebusF on 360 if anyone fancies some co-op.

*sigh* this game would be so much better without the stupid timers. You get all this freedom but you've minimal time to explore
