Well of course, you're Mr Retro.

(seriously though, the Wii does actually look really nice, especially if you still have an SD TV)

Are you talking about motion blur or low spatial resolution (even when it's not moving)?

        Guessing it's the upscaling

Its nothing to do with HD, Most Wii Games to me barley look better than Cube games, never mind X-Box games. Sonic Colors and Mario Galaxy at least look up there with some of the X-Box games

SEGA merged their Sonic teams into one team.
That happened before Unleashed tbh , and like I said ages ago Sonic Team will surprise many over the next couple of years; they have some great strategies to get back up to form. One of the few teams inside SEGA that at last 'Get it'

Yes they'll be another Sonic game for the HD lads, but port this over too

Having said that the wii has been pretty good over the last few months, one of the best period of releases it's had with games like this one, kirby and Goldeneye all coming out in the last couple of weeks.
I was gonna ask which Wii you are talking about, because the one Nintendo launched in 2006 has had a fairly solid stream of decent game for the best part of 2 years now.

Programmers were just most comfortable with Wii's hardware after doing Secret of the Rings and Black Knight.
I think PS3/360 owners made it pretty clear they weren't interested in buying Sonic games. Even Sonic and Sega All-stars Racing comfortably sold more units on Wii. It'd be ace to get the games in HD, but sadly the audiences on that system just plain don't care for the most part.

Tbh Sonic and the Black Knight was a sales disaster . Sonic Unleashed still pushed over a million copies on the 360 and PS3 alone

Black Knight was a joke though lol and it still sold about the same as the PS3/360 individual sales for Unleashed. Black Knight was probably more profitable on Wii than Unleashed was on PS3 or 360.

Yeah unleashed sold moderately well on the HD systems, but 600k per system with higher dev costs vs 1.6m with last gen's dev costs (plus 600k PS2 sales), it's understandable why they're concentrating on the Wii with potential ports to come to the other systems at a later date.

That has to be one of the strangest comments ever.... Do you really believe that?

Since when?, I buy alot of games, certainly all the ones that are generaly considered good, and indeed some that arent, and i have alot less games for my Wii than the 360 or PS3.

if by a "solid stream" you mean about 5 great games a year then youre probabaly right, but for me thats ****.

However, as Ive already said, the wii has come good recently, Ive bought quite a few really good Wii games this year.

I wish I only bought 5 Wii games a year...

This one is going to have to wait until the new year I think.

                            This.

The "there are no good games on the Wii" mantra just sounds ignorant now. There are plenty of decent titles if you can be bothered to look for them.

However, the initial complaint seemed to be the lack of games at first (which was fair enough because they were thin on the ground, which was why I got a 360...), but now there are games it's "I want this to come out on the 360/PS3 so I can play it in HD"

I'm with Strider on that one. I don't care. And Wii games look fine on my HDTV anyway. Obviously the visuals have nothing on my 360 games but it's really not that big a deal to me. hrugs:

Anyway, I've been watching this one closely for a while, so I'll definitely give it a look at some point.

It what way ?. Conkers on the X-Box looks better than a lot of 360 games, never mind almost every Wii game out there. Ninja Gaiden, Orta, Dead Or Alive Ultimate Riddick , Splinter Cell Chaos , Half Life II all feature better graphics than almost every Wii game out there

I'm not saying it was a massive success, just saying that any game selling over a million copies, shows there is some Market there. A nice improved port, sensible price point of ?20 and it could sell enough copies imo

I should have this shortly and it's nice to read that those who've already had a go are largely backing up the positive reviews, the seemingly endless run of disappointing Sonic titles has been crushing and hopefully they don't bother doing a HD Gen version of this and just use this as a template for a new Sonic on those formats. After this much discussion it'll be interesting to see how it looks running on my TV too, that's been one of the shames this gen. The Wii is clearly a more powerful piece of kit than the Xbox was but nearly all devs have been extremely lazy with it and put out software that's below par for last gen.
