    So

I have 2.2 million credits, theres one race on expert I need a 20million ford GT4 race spec to do, and the next set on extreme I need a 4.9 million GT F1 car.

Am I just expected to grind for these or what? I guess I could do some B spec to get money but it'll take a bit of a while.

    *palm*

That Historic race is a pain. I managed with the Ferrari 330, though B spec needed the Chaparral 2J. I let hexxed have the Jaguar XJ13 which I think he used successfully in it. If you don't mine me duplicating a car (backup save to USB stick, send car, restore save!) I could be persuaded to send you something to try (and keep). Send me a Friend Request.

Have you done all the Seasonal Races as the pay from those is very good. WIth the last lot all restrictions were lifted so you can make them as easy or as hard as you like. There will be a new set to replace the oldest in about 2.5 hours.

System backup is all very well, but will only restore to the PS3 it was taken from. Only of use really if your Hard Disk dies and you replace it.

i have a Pagani Zonda R '09 to spare and - silly enough - can't sell it. anyone interested in swapping? i'd like to have a Ferrari Enzo or Audi R10 TDi Race Car in return.

oh, and how does the car gifting work anyway?

To Gift you go to Community. Select the Recipient from the PSN Icons, Select the Gift Option and Garage and click on the car and then confirm.

I don't think there would be huge market for the Zonda R, unless someone wants it in the early stages of the game. I have (deliberately) bought cars I later received as prizes. The Gallardo was the first (don't think I realised it at the time), I fully upgraded it including the upgrades that could not be taken off once fitted so I was pleased to get a Stock one! I could gift you an Enzo (colour?) or the Audi! (I'd Backup the save, Send and Restore so no problem)

Check the Prize Car list before buying anything, I posted a link to the one at GTP on the previous page I think.

Just tried an Audi S4 '03. Bought and overhauled the other day. Fitted some (removable) engine upgrades to get the V8 up to RS4 HP (got it to 418 HP) put some Racing Softs on and did a couple of runs of the Extreme Euro Rome race to get some money from it. Nice car. Seems pretty neutral handling.

The new races are up, the big one is 150 million again and you're going to need a Japanese GT car to do it. Luckily there are lots in the online dealership, including the NOMAD Diablo

Time to get the wallet open again!

I am still doing the Number 3 set of races, though I have now completed the Citroen C4 WRC ones on all accounts (all over Lv 20 now with some decent cash if I need it).

If that Diablo can be used in the race it will totally overpower the opposition (assuming No Limits again).

Darwock as well as that Audi (above) another decent normal car from the UCD is the BMW 330i. I overhauled mine and upgraded the engine (removable parts only) and used it for getting money in that Rome race so soon got back the money for car, overhauls and parts.

I have the NOMAD now. One I was gifted and one I bought. Must check mileages to see whether it needs an overhaul.

Unless the Diablo IS the opposition

It can be used, the cars are all named specifically on the entry requirements.

edit - and I just did, it destroyed the race completely! I put racing softs on (default is hard) but needn't have bothered. I won despite running across the grass for a spell and also another barrier impact which sent me going down one of the straights backwards for about half it's length. If you want a challenge best choose a different car methinks, lol

edit 2 - I'm curious about the Countach in the OCD. It is the '74 model without the rear bumper, but the description is for the '88 anniversary model and implies that the '88 model was the only one chosen to be in the game. I have only ever seen the 88 in the UCD, at about half the price of this one (but with more power). Just an oversight, or is this something they have added since?

Uli id be interested in your Zonda, I havent got round to buying one yet, what did you want for it?

I think both Countachs are prizes. There are "funnies" in the car descriptions, so I don't take too much notice of them.

Due to an excess of cash (shame!!) I bought that (third) Diablo and also the Furai as I prefer the colour scheme to the plain Black one I won, before doing the latest races.

I spun out with the Diablo (a couple of times and got badly out of shap occasionally) until I took it easy with the throttle on the corners, after which I was flying around. Forgot to adjust the gearing and was hitting the rev limiter at just over 200 mph due to fitting the engine upgrades just to see what it would do. Now has 870HP after oil. The one in the Online Dealer was much lower mileage that the ones I already have. May have to proliferate it to my other accounts!

If you don't do B spec you won't get the Zonda as you get it from the (Professional) GT World Championship in B spec. The Zonda is a bit of a beast, but on a (rare!) clean lap at the Rome circuit I managed to post a 1:03 on Racing Softs!

What is this Rome race that everyone mentions?

The seasonales have got me up to LVL 24 so I can probably enter it now.

                      Such a vast game.

The Rome race is part of the Extreme European Championship (lv 22). It is slower than the Indy Race (Extreme American Championship) and gives less money, but there is a wide choice of European Cars that you can use for it and at 99K (until the end of the month) is not a bad payout (Indy gives 117K) and it gives 4.7K Exp (Indy 4.4K Exp).

Have you done the Advanced Top Gear Challenge yet? It is the easiest of the three TG Challenges. For Gold you get a '10 Jaguar XFR (Standard car but ought to be Premium!) which can be used for that European Championship of course. The ideal with that Challenge is to be in 3rd place (or better) at the end of the first lap. The car in front of you seems to be taken out at the first crossover on both laps and with suitable speed overtaking the leader is not that difficult. Mostly a matter of keep going flat out and hope the crossover cars don't take you out!

I now have all the colours of the XFR (with a little duplication)! Assuming the list I saw with eight is correct.

Cheers Bassman. Useful for when I need to grind then.

Yeah got Gold on that on first attempt. Loved that race, it was hilarious!

I had no idea what was going on with all those kamizaze schwimmwagens that appeared out of the blue... was laughing a lot myself until I was in the lead and got hit by one myself :/

I had to brake at the crossover on the last bit of the second lap and had a glancing blow from one. The second placed Kubelwagen crawled by. I made sure I didn't hit the Rev Limiter and managed to get past again and win reasonably comfortably. That was on the account where I got the last XFR colour a little while ago. I did save the replay!

Just maxxed out the Credits on my main account. At least I can finish off the Seasonals on my other accounts. May do the unthinkable and get the two F1 Ferraris for free over the next couple of days! Seems fair as you can't actually use them to make money!
