Ha, i thought i had somehow misplaced my steps and revisited the previous area! It was only by introducing nasties that I realized I was actually progressing forward. Still, what is amazing is that they can present a copy-and-paste area yet we still are on the very edge of our seat.

I've played the demo a copy of times now and its strengths truly do come apparent. All movements control so smoothly and all of the interactions and animations flow together almost seamlessly. Love, love 'hacking'. It's very very impressively done.

I definitely am not a fan of the Issac's tone of voice though. The voice acting / character of the main fellow in Alan Wake completely destroyed my experience of the game, so here's hoping the same doesn’t apply to Dead Space 2 - I’m sure it won't when considering Dead Space isn’t so narratively heavy. It is a shame though. I would love to have a sit down with the designers and question their reasons why they made Isaac look and sound how he does, especially considering how magnificent those armour designs are. I wonder what the ideas behind it were? Very curious.

But yes! With that said, amazing demo for a potentially fantasitc game. Can't wait

Yeah I got that feeling a few times "have I gone the wrong way?" I hope it is just a copy and paste effort for the demo...wouldn't like that in the main game!

I've just pre-ordered the 360 collectors edition from HMV for £69.99 as that seems to be the only place doing it with the Plasma cutter replica...

From what i remember Issac actualy looked alot like he does here in the first game, you could actualy see him if you panned the camera near the start before he put on his mask.

I dont actualy find his voice rubbish or anything but giving him one is still pretty weird though.

I thought the copy and paste bit was actualy awesome becuase it made you feel like you knew what was coming up and then a monster jumped out of the wall at you and scared you to death (or well did me anyway).

Is it me or are the monsters alot quicker in this than in the first one?

His facial depiction is familiar, though previously he was consciously less forefront. Here, however, his face is clearly visible, which isnt a bad thing as such, just questionable considering the mystery surrounding Issac's character was one of the original's most welcome additions.

I definitely do not think the voice acting is rubbish… I just think the tone doesn't fit with Issac's character :-)

Played a few mins of the demo that was all I needed for this to confirm I need not worry, this game will be just as good as the first, I reckon possibly even better.
Gunner Wright is the face/voice of Issac, glad he has a voice this time round as his lack of one in the original did bother me, especially in some circumstances.

Loved the first Dead Space, despite its convoluted story and will snap up DS2 when the price is right.
Having played the demo, which is 'ok' I suspect EA suits have been to work here, in giving Isaac a face and a voice, and in quickening the monster's speed both in attack and readiness. The suits would have wrongly concluded that DS1 didn't sell as much as expected because players couldn't see Issac's face or hear a witty quip or two, and the shambling monsters were too 'boring'. Also, someone once emailed them complaining about the zero-g controls being too hard for them.
I'm confident DS2 will be a good sequel, but equally confident after all's said and done punters will vote for DS1 as the definative Dead Space.

              Probably.

Gunner Wright eh? Ah... that's why it doesn't fit well with me.

Playing the PS3 version of the demo and it's brilliant!

I loved the first game so more o the same is fine by me!

2011 is going to start with a gaming bang!

EDIT: Using slo-mo to target a limb and then, once it's dismembered, using telekinesis to fire it back at the monster is

This just in...The suits also recommended using the Pale Folk from the library of Tham Mirdiam in Lord of the Rings Online, yes they too over-run the players.

Seems more of the same, but the demo is pretty poor. Demos for games like this rarely work as they are out of context and as mentioned there is some crazy repetition.

Like the first game I will get it when it falls in price.

This game is too creepy for me! Nice graphics, presentation, gameplay and atmosphere but the game is too scary for me to enjoy which is a shame

Looks as good as expected, difficult enough to make you actually try hard to stay alive and some of the best atmosphere this side of 2010.

May have to wait for the price to come down (not the richest man right now) but will pick it up when I have the free time and money to do so.

Loved the demo, everything feels a little smoother than the last game, the movement the aiming/controls, melee etc. The controls/gameplay seem to be touched up a little which is good. This is how Resident evil should control!

The melee seems a little more useful than in the last game, in which i found it near useless, it actually seems to damage enemies a bit easier and move them out the way more which is good.

This did seem a bit harder in difficulty, enemies took more shots it seems and I found myself using quite a few medpacks. Looks like the baby monster have grown up a bit in this one!

I loved the goryness of the death animations in the first one and already I've seen one in this that's crazier and gorier than any I saw in the last game:

When the big monster attacks in the church if you let it kill you, it's one hell of a death scene!

the demo is either crap or bugged - i dont see how to get past the stupid hack puzzle.
