Around 10 mins of single player footage from the PS3 version,

Looks decent enough to me, no idea why they shipped such a ****e demo.

Still dont know if i should go PS3, or get it for PC. Ive got 4gig of ram, Windows 7 64 bit, AthlonII x4 and a Asus ENGT430.

Im thinking if the PS3 can pull that video off, then maybe my comp can at least do a bit more. Would also be nice to play a game with a mouse for the first time in ages.

        From IGN PS3 review

The PS3 version of Crysis 2 has particular idiosyncracies. After playing both console versions, and playing through the same set of levels multiple times on both consoles, it became clear to a number of editors at IGN that the PS3 version is lacking somewhat in comparison to the 360 version of the game. The game still looks great on PS3, but the framerate is less consistent, the resolution is lower (in the neighborhood of 10% lower than the Xbox 360 release), and certain graphical effects and some lighting appear dialed back. In layman's terms, there are more jagged edges in the PS3 version of the game, and things get choppy more often than its 360 counterpart, which hurts controller response. The 360 is not immune to this, it just doesn't happen as often.

        Seems CTnext could be right

Thanks Mr. B. I'm beginning to derive a strange masochistic pleasure from the fact that my PS3 version will be the 'de facto' crappiest version for any multiplatform game you might care mention. Now I know what my Amstrad owning friends must've felt - as the youth of nowadays are apt to say - 'back in the day'.

I can live with 'jaggies' of lack of AA - in fact i even prefer the way it looks sharper,to a soft image (I guess its down to preference)

Framerate is another issue altogether though....

Not heard anything in the reviews about the controls responsiveness yet which is making me lean to PS3. Maybe someone will get the 360 ver early on here

How much better is the PC version compared to the PS3 version?
Not sure which one would be the overall better package. The review on Game Trailers doesn't really go into any details or comparisons.

That's the issue with the PC version. It's definately a better version than the PS3 version but so far all the vids etc seem to be running on a suitable set up for it so it depends on your own rig. If it's not up to spec for what the game needs then you might be looking at opting for the console versions again.

Right I see, I did hear though that if your system can run Crysis 1 it will run Crysis 2, for some off reason of it being less refined. My system can run the first game pretty much maxed out.

If I'm right in thinking then you should be fine

I am playing the Ps3 version and when reduced to 720p I don't notice jaggies and the framerate is solid enough. Thats not where the problem lies for me.

The problem I find is that Crysis 2 is technically amazing in terms of scale and whats going on, but the thing that keeps this game from looking brilliant is the below par resolution and the filter thrown over it. The game does look as if someone recently pissed over my screen. Enemies are also very hard to see in the open because of this. You can notice that there are brilliant graphics at work here, but the console is just to weak to show them at full spec.

I must admit that therefore some regrets about not buying the PC version crossed my mind during the first hour of play. But that was quickly defeated by the comfyness of my sofa, a bottle of coke, some cookies and my Plasma TV. And trophies.

All in all I say that this game does blow Killzone 3 away when it comes to single player. Crysis does kind of have the scale of a Halo, its not yet another CoD ish train ride which to me is a godsend as I am getting SICK of this typical layout. Its confirmed that the game takes over 10 hours on average to complete so you'll have a very solid single player FPS at any rate. Probably the best one of this year.

Does anyone know when this will be available on Steam? I'm assuming release dates are different region to region, but I can't seem to find any information about when it's on Steam.

It's available to buy and pre-load now but I think it unlocks at midnight.

The title of this thread should not have changed from the beta to the proper game.

People have rated the beta 4's and 5's when they will probabaly rate the full game 8's and 9's.

                              It needs a new thread.
