I played the demo at an event a few months back and was impressed. Don't have the budget to buy this new at the moment anyway.

my word, sony really have come down hard on this; Couldnt find anywhere selling it (Belfast). I went into gamestop to collect my preorder and a guy temptingly pulled out a copy to give me, only to told by his supervisor about 'the sony embargo'
Felt like i was being asked for ID again for buying beer lol
Most shops were of course being very sensitive to the situation in Japan, having no problems displaying the cracked earth of 'fracture', the Apocalyptic wastleland of Fallout New vegas (both HMV) and Tesco had dvd copies of 2012, Armageddon and Independance day clearly on display. Smyths even had the Motorstorm apocalypse demo available to play from a ps3 booth!
Yet you can buy promos and sealed copies of the game on ebay!
aw well, Yakuza 4 for me tonight thenLast edited by dvdx2; 18-03-2011, 16:07.

It won't even make the April target date in the US:
MotorStorm Apocalypse Release Update
Similar to news already issued from our Japanese and European territories, SCEA can confirm that we are officially delaying release of MotorStorm Apocalypse from its scheduled April 12th date. We will provide more information regarding release timing at a later date.
Sony was supposed to go loud with this one. If they still want to do that, it can take quite a long time before this gets released again.Last edited by saturn-gamer; 18-03-2011, 17:46.

Been playing this alot since yesterday and on the whole it's an excellent game with alot to love and a bit to grumble about.
The Good
It is an awesome game. Most of the tracks are really impressive with spectacular wtf moments and they manage to maintain a level of "flying by the seat of your pants" intensity. Skyline,
a series of tracks around the top of the city
was an instant favourite. There will be numerous instances of not quite knowing where you're going and hitting things you weren't sure where there two seconds ago (and indeed may not have been). The game could be a bit more forgiving, especially with the bikes, but that seems to be the nature of the beast and getting back into the race is quite quick.
The soundtrack can be a bit hit and miss, it's definitely a step change from the previous games but there's nothing offensive enough to the ears to take you out of the game. That said, there are a couple of awesome Bourne type car chase tracks which for me at least really fit the more dramatic tracks. I must have spent at least an hour last night driving round the Skyline tracks listening to one particular DJ Shadow remix.
Multiplayer seems to be fairly stable. The servers are understandably a bit up and down at the moment so getting into a matchmaking game can be a slog, private matches seems to be okay. When you do get a match, they're pretty stable, in fact I've yet to see any instances of lag once the race gets underway.
The bad
The single player story, ugh, is garbage. I'd pretty much decided after watching the first cutscene that I wasn't interested, subsequent cutscenes only reinforced that. Others may feel differently. Personally I'd say let the tracks tell the story and I'll be happy with any ol' meek excuse to be there same as the previous games.
Sony and Evolution have confirmed there is no way to unlock chips offline, so there is no offline progression. No vehicles, parts, stickers, decals, perks or drivers to unlock offline. You can collect some art cards (wow!) during the story mode races but that's it. Quite frankly this is **** and while I understand the reasons for wanting to add balance and progression to the multiplayer, removing all those features from the offline mode is lazy and unforgivable. A balance could have been easily struck between the two. If you have no intention of going online you may want to have a think about this before you purchase as Sony and Evo make no attempts to inform players of this.
Tip
When you go over a jump release the accelerator and boost, it cools your engine in the same way as going through water. Online, taking advantage of in air cooling is the difference between winning and losing.
