Yeah I forgot to add that to my list of negs. When you're choosing your car, it looks lovely, but in-game the texture resolution is AWFUL.

Well, yes, but I think I got over the let down before I even got the game. It is a rehash and, 3D aside, I'm finding it hard to place it above the half-decade old PSP version. But it's still enjoyable. It's same old Ridge Racer but I also don't feel it's anywhere near the lazy effort the early footage suggested. I do like the new colour palette, for example. Something very classic Sega about it.

There are a couple of tracks I don't recognise - one with snow and one that goes underwater in a tunnel. Are they new or just from a game I haven't played?

I think the snow one is a palette change from a RR7 track.

Alas no, I was hoping it'd be in there in some form too. My Crazy Chainsaw and Dr Mad's Gone are decent alternatives in the old school hard core stakes though!

I'm alright with this as I haven't touched RR since the first PSP title and so it seems quite fresh. I prefer the bright colour scheme on this too. So easy to play as well, really like this one.

The graphics on this are actualy quite retro in feel, the remind me of the first couple of ridge racer games.

I have actualy been playing this with the 3d off, I'm not really enjoying the feature on games that have alot of movment in them (this and pilotwings for example).

Besides the graphics though it's typical modern day Ridge Racer, which means it's great in my book.

I whack the 3d fully up on this, which I can't on pilotwings, hand cramps are a bigger issue than eye wonk on this for me.

I think the 3D game play while on the train, car etc is going to be really tough for many people. I'm totally prone to motion sickness which is a bummer so I'd definitely have to play it lying down in a well lit room.

Only had a couple of goes but I'm really enjoying this. It's nothing special, just basically more of the PSP version really, but that's no bad thing for me as I only really played the first one on there.

Back of the box says some brand new tracks, everyone on here is saying old ones only...are they lying?

I hadn't even noticed that! I've heard mixed reports on this, I don't think anyone on here has clocked it yet though... if it's on the back of the box you'd think and hope it was true! I suppose it might mean new as in having snow on and old track or something, the snow one seems familiar somehow, but could be wrong... In fact there does seem at least one I haven't come across before, having played most RR games...

Maybe I've just forgotten about it!

As I posted before, there are some I don't instantly recognise but I think people are right when they say they've been reskinned. There's a rocky canyon one that I'm certain is an old track that just has a new look (once had some grass patches, hills etc before).

Loving this, I'm glad I took on a punt on this rather than wait for Mario Kart.

It's just like the 360 version of Ridge Racer 6 which I love to bits.

I've seen a few drops of frame rate thoe!

Another bummer is that there is no online mode which is a massive missed opportunity, I woulda loved to play this against some pals.

P.S. I can't believe I've been playing this for the past half hour whilst on the ****ter. Not good for the legs, they felt like jelly when I tried to stand up!!
