just got this today, first impressions are good (haven't played it enough to properly judge). but i do think they've made a mistake with the control system. they should've made the L button to change driver rather than the Z button as, lets face it, most people will use R to power slide cos they're used to it from MK64. i find it quite annoying when i'm in the middle of a power slide and realize i need to swap driver, but can't because i'm already holding down R and can't reach Z without letting go!

seems like like a minor niggle i know but i can see it becoming increasingly irritating as i get better at the game.

Sound - Mono, Stereo or Surround
Volume
Rumble - On or Off
Time Trial Ghosts - On or Off
VS Item Boxes - Recommended (uniform frequency), Basic (few powerful items), Frantic (many powerful items), or None.
VS Laps - set the number of laps in VS mode

In Grand Prix mode the pause menu is:

Continue
Quit (no retry race!)

At the end of each race:

Next Race
Quit

In battle, VS and time trial mode the in-game menu is something like:

Change course
Change characters
(Change Battle game)
Restart
Quit

Also at the end of each Time Trial if you have produced the fastest ghost time you can save it (5 blocks).

Yeah, other than course names (I listed them earlier) there isn't a lot else.

I also forgot that in Co-Op mode the thrower-player can slide-attack with the L and R shoulder buttons. This allows you to steal items too if your thrower isn't holding an item. You can use it to make super sharp turns too, but with some speed loss.

Which one? The powerslide that builds up a burst of energy?
Depends what you mean by snaking If you mean, a technique to improve your performance then yes it is. If you mean, a mistaken technique not meant to be, then no. Its definitely meant to be there, the sparks under the car change from yellow to blue when the boost is ready to fly (from what i've seen in the vids).

Is there any way of being able to tell what cups you have won under different CC's? I played it loads when I got it 1st thing this morning but having turned it off to get some breakfast I can't remember which ones I have done and can't see any info which tells me this.
I do know that it is saving correctly though as my time trial times are still there.

Also does changing your character during a race alter anything except the type of special power up you get?

As for the boost method I have got my head round it by practicing time trial on the 3rd track of the mushroom cup (the oval track in the theme park). Got pretty good at it too.

I got mine from Play-Asia and they sent me an email on early Saturday morning saying it had posted. I chose airmail in a padded envelope and paid the tiny extra for it to be signed for because I had never ordered from them before and wanted the extra piece of mind.
It turned up 1st thing today.

look under Records for each cup.

... or, as you choose each cup, the last-won cup on that circuit/speed class will be displayed on the left.

changes the weight, which affects handling, speed and acceleration.
