Is there a demo out for this? I thought all Xbox games had to have one but looking through the marketplace I can't find it, I see Tescos have it for ?33 with a tenner off if you buy a 2100 points card which seems not bad but I'd rather try it first given the mixed views in this thread and also because I have no intention of buying Kinect. Rez is one of my all time favourites so I'm hoping this will appeal to me.

It's only XBLA and XBLIG that have to have demos. For retail releases it's optional.

About to buy this, loved res - would you recommend the kinect route or the controller route?

Ive played with and worked with Kinect for a wee bit now...

          - and I can honestly say this is the first title ive witnessed that truly feels different with Kinect. Eden is a great game with the pad. Personally, the pad works perfectly fine and you will enjoy the game if you liked Rez, however, with the Kinect the game suddenly turns into a very different experience - it pulls you in, allows you to feel utterly enchanted - and you will find playing with the controller afterwards just doesnt feel the same.

If you have Kinect, then Child of Eden is a must, in fact its the only real reason, beside Dance Central, to own a Kinect - however, if you dont have a kinect, and never plan to purchase one, then Child of Eden is still a worthy purchase, perhaps second hand.

In short, both pad and kinect work, and work well... but, the game feels quite incredible with kinect - absolutely worth experiencing.

Yeah it's a superb integration of Kinect... Good with the pad, brilliant with Kinect.

It becomes annoying with the pad after repeated play. Frustrating in the worst possible ways. It very definitely feels like it was designed for Kinect. Pad play is very unbalanced.

It can get frustrating, definitely, but the fact the top controller scores are superior to the top kinect scores on the global leaderboards make me question whether it was designed primarily for kinect.

Ultimately I think it's a game that, like a lot of Japanese shoot 'em ups, demands practise. I don't consider myself a particularly great gamer (I struggled to beat the game on hard) but thanks to a lot of practise I managed a position of 13 on the 'Hope' global leaderboards and managed to squeeze 950 gamerscore out of the game before selling it. So, yeah, it's just a matter of putting in the hours.

I get much better scores in Virtua Cop 2 by playing it with a mouse on the computer, yet the proper and most fun way to play it is with a light gun. Fun and immersion often comes at a small cost of difficulty.

I can't comment on whether kinect is a more fun and immersive way to play the game. Sure looks it though.

I got the Demo for this on the PS3, and was pleasantly suprised... Wanted to play it for ages, but now that it has finally come out on the PS3, Ima hafta sample the full game...

Can anyone tell me how big the game is? What I wanna know is if its worth shelling out for the full game.

Luv the atmosphere and creative direction of it all, makes me think that they could have done this on older systems, and still got the same type of result. Kinnect being the exception of course...

It's not a big game. I don't know whether you're familiar with the beautiful Rez but this is an even shorter game. I'd say all 5 stages can be completed in under 45 minutes. I don't feel the game is worth paying full whack myself, but there's plenty who feel differently.

This will teach me to browse and type with a minimised window during work time

I actually typed my first response thinking that it was in the limbo thread :/ It was actually limbo I downloaded, not Eden On finding out my error, I couldn't let Charlie hang so jus went with it

So erm, as for a demo of Eden, well, err dunno if one is available.

But its funny how my comments applied just as well to this game lol.

                                Hehe. Easy mistake.

Regarding Limbo, it's difficult gauging how long a game it is because it depends on how quickly you can figure out the puzzles. Took me 4, maybe 5 hours to complete, but it's such a uniquely beautiful and atmospheric game that it's well worth buying.
