Well i finally clocked this game, after a month and half of only playing this one game I thoroughly enjoyed it for the most part... The only criticism id have about it was the game play was very much similar all the way through, which did drag a bit, but like i said earlier, its probably down to the way i played it, where i had to see the different types of outcomes and way to get to certain points... I went for the all out nice guy routine, which does seem to be the way they wanted the game to be played, as it opened up more conversations trees etc... I'm tempted to play it again to be an utter bastard and kill/knock out every AI member in the game lol... but that may get old very quickly.

I never did max up every bit of my stats,

and i never used my typhoon lol, as I tried to get the achievement of not killing a person, which i did do, but i didn't get the achievement, the thing i didn't realise was that if you kill a robot and it explodes and takes a knocked out AI character with it, int he vicinity, that goes against you... meh! Which is all well and good, but if stupid pilot Malik is being fired upon by everybody and everyone, and you need to dispatch EVERYONE 'gently' asap, then an exploding robot will occur next to one of the knocked out members... uhh... SO annoying!

So overall i enjoyed it as ive not really played a Deus Ex game before and tbh was expecting something different, but my very brief stint on Deus Ex Invisible War did prepare me in the knowledge that it was a 1st person game. Ive said this a lot of times before, but i unfortunately suffer from motion sickness in FPS games, so MANY breaks had to be had, but i got through it...

Was it worth it? Yeah, id say so...

Although i disliked the Shanghi level, it just wasn't as interesting as Detroit...

The cities in general did a good job of immersing you into the world, although the AI is VERY stupid in parts... The end level guardians were challenging too... Hardest has to be the 1st one, Barrett, then probably the second to last one. I like the Final guardian, it had more thought put into it However the ending kind of felt anti climatic to me... :/

I don't want to get into Sketcz levels of OCD but there are a few minor issues such as walking into offices and no one acknowledges you or rifling through the drawers when people are say at desks?? Things like that just make you lose immersion.

        Lol that's borderline skectz

In hindsight, I guess you have to overlook a lot of things in the game to truly get into it and enjoy it for what it does do well...

I think its fair enough to mention it, but to go ape over it is the difference :P

Which offices were these? I know the police station didn't take kindly to that behaviour at all!

I never had any trouble in the Police station as I talked my way in the front and took items off of desks and out of drawers whilst people sat there

The whole police station turned on me when I tried to log on to one of their computers!

I forgot to mention the fact that no bats an eyelid when a heavily augmented guy crawls out of a ventilation shaft into a questioning rooms and pilfers items out of drawers.

They are only minor points though and I appreciate it is difficult to create a realistic inhabited environment and is better than resorting to 'the building has been evacuated for xyz' scenario as seen later.

Just started this game, it's astonishing when played the 'right' way. Skulking in corridors, ill-humoured conversations with corporate robots, checking email after email, forgetting logins, generally being confused as to who is meant to be responsible for what...It's like they've taken my working day and put it on the screen!

Picked this up on the weekend and i have to say its quite good. It does take some getting in to. You need to play passed the first 2 missions for it to come into its own. I'm not that far into in right now, but im enjoying it.
I agree with the stealth comments made here, its much more geared towards that style of play then the last Deus Ex was. I think you can storm through it like the terminator if you want, but thats not how the game wants you to play it.
                      I've given it a solid 8/10

Well, I'm lobbing this now. Don't see the point of going to the effort of creating such a detailed backstory and gameworld when the AI breaks the illusion at every juncture. Just bungled another stealth section, so I ran away like a girl under heavy crossfire from several goons. I burst through a door into a building for cover when I got a call via my braincam thing. The goons stopped pursuing me and politely waited just outside the open door while I took the call, then went about their normal business when I'd finished chatting.

Just finished my first playthrough. Wow. Epic game, I didn't want it to end. I absolutely love cyberpunk. Add the liberal dashes of MGS and you have one special game.

yeah, I agree with a heap of what Skectz is saying. Why the hell can I only open 1 drawer out of the 3 in front of me? Why can't I hack every single computer I see? Why are there so many cardboard boxes and crates in this universe? But you know what, I can get past these minor annoyances, just like I can with changing camo instantly in MGS3. It does make me think though, crickey, what are these guys going to be able to do on "next gen" machines????

I didn't feel this game drag at all, although I was looking forward to visiting a few more cities. I just wanted to keep experiencing this universe. The lack of locales is but a minor criticism, it's like saying I wanted a few more chocolate sprinkles on top of my three-tiered chocolate torte.

Eidos Montreal now have a rich, exciting world for us to explore. I hope we get to explore a whole lot more of it in the future.

I've been playing this over the weekend due to it being in the Diamond Jubilee OnLive sale. It started out awesomely for me, but I'm now at Chapter 10, and I find it highly boring. The side quests are reasonable at best. The entire game is rinse and repeat just in different locales. Very repetitive gameplay. It's a jack of all trades, but master of none. I've already given it up and moved onto F.3.A.R.
                            Kept you waiting, huh?

Just started playing this, the Wii-U directors cut and so far it's great. Off-TV play works a treat too!

Playing the Director's Cut on the WiiU as well. I'm liking the game, though it has been a long while since I played a first-person game (simulations aside) and I still need to get a good hang of the controls.
I'm liking it, as time seems to pass by really fast while playing, but even from the first mission I can see that the AI is very limited, and affects AI characters in a very small area.
For example, during the first mission I killed all the enemies in every section, but alert levels were limited to single building rooms (or bunch of rooms), and even killing guards outside the main bad guy's room didn't trigger anything special.
After that, sneaking by the police station, and getting seen by policemen and probably security guards entering/exiting air ducts or closed rooms would trigger no reaction. Furthermore, I was able to trigger reaction from just two guards in an other section of the game while a third, few meters away, would simply stand there doing nothing.
I can stand random passerby getting struck on the scenery, but guards' AI should definitely be better.
