Skyrim, Fallout 3, Burnout Paradise, Borderlands 1&2.....

All have lots of faults, but all are, in my eyes, worthy of a 10 as they are such great fun I'm willing to ignore the flaws.

Does anybody play MP on this? I had a go today for about an hour and I'm quickly coming around to the opinion that it isn't much cop.

It seems to suffer from the same issues as CoD in that I can shoot someone 20 times in the face and nothing happens and then my opponent sneezes and I die.

Its a shame as the idea of modes like Plunder is great but finding enjoyment in it is proving difficult.

Sometimes play Co-op. In 2 player found men just keep coming and did seem a bit hard to kill. Plus they never stop shooting. I personally play a lot online and enjoyed my sessions of Hoard mode I had a few times but mostly play team death match which is great fun. Even with people who are like lvl 75 I get some kills.

I personally found this to be the easiest in the series on crushing. If it was the same length as the first game, I'm sure I'd be able to do it well under the 6 hours it took me to do that on crushing.
The game isn't any Harder on crushing than on normal. The reason for this is becuase the only time it's ever hard is when the game is unfair, and it's unfair on all difficulties.

As I said earlier you dont die all the time or anything, it's just that when you do die it's a very frustrating experience as a lot of the time it's not your fault, but the fault of bad game design (enemies spawning directly behind you, poor level design, and the numerous other faults I have noted in my posts throughout this thread).

There was one section on crushing, which was on the boat in the big hall type area that I struggled with. I wouldn't call it unfair, you just need to be strategic with your movement. You definitely need to be cautious with your approach, more so than any of the other games. Definitely my fave of the series.

If you want to complain about unfair deaths, go find the thread for Among Thieves.

I know the bit you mean, that part is unfair on all difficulties becuase while they give you cover enemies come at you from all sides at once so there's really no use for it. The enemies pinpoint grendade throwing skills does not help matters either.

I disagree that the game requires tactics... I eventually discovered that the best "tactic" for all situations was simply to run and gun in diagonal patterns across large areas like the one you described. You end up not playing the game at all like the cover based shooter it's suppose to be and more like a 3d version of Contra(if contra required you to run back and forth constantly).. but at least you finish the level.

Picking my way through the mp maps now the games are more full of players. Far as I can tell, still got City of Brass, Facility, Old Quarter and Oasis to go. Still some of the flashback maps to try too but good fun so far, especially like Graveyard

About a third of the way into this and the flaws of the series have overtaken the thrill of the spectacle. I really enjoy the games but there is so little excitement because the game does nothing to punish you for failure. Negotiating the burning building for instance was cool but again not remotely exciting because if I failed I would be put back about 30 seconds. Combat is still a little flaky, evident when I loaded a clip into a bloke from close range and it did nothing to him at all. It seems I was supposed to take him out hand to hand.

Heck at least they had silenced guns a last.

Just wait until you get to the cheap flaming headed enemies. You will have even more to complain about then.

Started this again last night (thanks to Soundwave) in glorious 3d. Looks amazing. Getting frustrated at the controls almost immediately though.

                        How's it look in 3D??

I promise I'll get up the storage unit this weekend & dig Arkham City out for you as well

Looks astounding mate! A bit of ghosting with very bright objects/scenes but that's a general issue with 3d and not something ND could do anything about. No noticeable framerate or resolution drop either. In other words, this game should be played in 3d if you have the facility imo.

Will hopefully experience it myself one day.
