It comes with alternative steelbook packaging too, but price is a tad on the expensive side, you're right. It's one for the super duper hardcore fans of the series, and I would've still probably bought one if I didn't get mine for free.

Limited Edition worthiness aside, it's a cracking HD collection. Sons of Liberty shows its ages a little in certain areas, but still to this day remains a fantastic title. Peace Walker finally breaks free from the shackles of awkward PSP controls (well, for me anyway), and is actually a really good entry in the series. As for Snake Eater, the gameplay stands the test of time superbly. It actually shows up some current generation titles, even in the visuals department.

Again, fantastic HD collection, and a must for anyone interested in the Metal Gear series.

Strangely, the ps3 version doesn't have snake vs monkey, but the 360 does? Considering its a Sony game that surprises me! Also, the vampire mini game dream sequence isn't in it anymore either.

Played Peace Walker last night, I've been dying to play it for ages but couldn't be arsed to buy a PSP especially.

I'm kinda glad I didn't.
It's all a bit clunky to control (significantly different controls from the main games) the graphics are noticeably worse than the PS2 ports, they obviously didn't want to redo all the geometry. The Comic style FMV's haven't been redone either and are quite pixellay having come from the PSP version.

Most Annoying is that there are really really long load times between areas, far longer than what I've seen in MGS3, which is pretty dissapointing, bearing in mind it is installed to my HDD and it's not even some shiny unreal engine game.

The difference between the Main 2 games and Peace walker is akin to the Difference between a AAA Hollywood blockbuster and the Spin off TV series, which looks a bit naff by comparison.

As I shamefully have a PSP an never bought Peace Walker should be worth it just for this. The Japanese version of MGS:HD has MGS1 and Te Euro/US one has Pewce Walker. I think we get the better deal as I'm sure many people have played MGS1 already. Can't wait to play MGS3 again as only finished it once. MGS2 will be interesting but has some strange stuff I remember, plus umpteen codec interruptions. Great collection though can't wait to play them again.

It's worth noting that the 3 games are coming to PSN/XBLA, so if you only want to play one of them, holding on might be worth a bit of a wait.

Also, just noticed that each disc has it's own 1000 achievement points to have, so a total of 2000

Really? the 360 box says that peace walker has no acheivements!? just the first two.

Anyhow beautiful ports, at a gorgeous 60fps. Aged well imo.

Nintendo must be absolutely kicking themselves because frankly who is going to be arsed with the tiny screen, er i mean 3ds edition over this?

Well chuffed that peace walker is alone on the second disc....so i never have to bother installing it!

Have to say though i would have MUCH preferred Twin Snakes, or just the original version in place of peace walker.

There is only 2 Versions, The original version or Twin Snakes.

I say Twin Snakes as it is far easier on the eye and stands up much better with the others, but that is a controversial opinion to have around here...

I will only be wanting PW. Finished it twice on PSP, but would defo be up for hooking up with my PW chums to play this from my bed eating cheese. Excellent game. In my top 3 MGS chart.
