Those builds are amazing, always blows my mind when I see just how creative you can be. Just where do you begin starting these worlds and how long have they taken you?

Does anyone have the PS3/Vita version? How easy is it to go between the systems? Can you build on one and then move over to the other and back again? Or do they have completely separate saves?
Question for my girls: is the torch the only source of light? Just wondering how best to make street lights.
And lastly a question for me: should I give survival a go or will it just frustrate if I'd like to get into the building? Does it add a lot or will creative be a better fit?

The 360 version was survival only when it first came out.
The majority of the fun, for me, was mining for the requisite material for my roller coaster, meaning I was constantly exploring new caves as I found them.
I know it's blocky, but hearing hiss and moan of unseen enemies in a newly discovered cave was terrifying with headphones on!
It was like a cross between Tomb Raider and Resident Evil, but, you know, for kids...

I've been playing the Vita version and it's good! Performance isn't stellar but does the job nicely. As you say, Kryss, it seems you can move between PS3 and Vita but it requires an active transferring from one to the other rather than an easy cloud save like Fez had. Also you can't dual play between versions - would have been great to have one of my kids on the PS3 while I was on the Vita.
Still it seems like fully featured Minecraft on a handheld. Or at least as fully featured as I'd notice.
I'm currently building a mansion in creative mode. Every so slightly Resident Evil. I might start from scratch in survival when I've done that. Oh and yes, Charles it seems I can switch from creative to survival at any point but trophies will only work if you start on survival and stay there.

Well I've been playing a LOT of Minecraft. Got hooked on survival mode, djgging and digging for supplies for a couple of houses and minecart tracks between them. The began to find out more about the game and ventured to the
Nether and then realised I had a way of finding an end portal (it told me right in the craft menu but I didn't realise for ages). Eventually found the end portal and it doesn't work. Does nothing. Searched online to find out what I did wrong and it turned out it wasn't me - the thing hasn't spawned correctly and it is incomplete. Apparently it happens sometimes.
Well bugger anyway. Frustrates me because it took me a very long time in survival to get to a point where I could find it successfully and now I would have to start from scratch if I wanted to do it.

Was playing this myself with my son yesterday. We play creative mode although I got board after 2 hours but my son was still well in to it after 4 hours! By that time I had to prise him off it. 4 hours is stretching it a bit. He did build a pretty cool world though for a 7 year old. I'll have to post a picture. He said he wants to continue expanding his world too. bummer. Looks like our future gaming sessions are all on Minecraft

I've mostly been playing on PS4 recently (have the One version as well, having played on PS3 and 360, also the VIta). I've yet to get Plus though as far as the PS4 is concerned. I'm still trying to get some slimes to spawn so that I can make a decent entrance. I have figured out a pressure plate opening panel with a time delay (for entrance or exit) before closing again. Successfully got that on the One version.
I think my slime "spawner" room at Bedrock level (must be around 45x70 and 7 high at least so far) may still be too "small". The "One" room is around 100x50 and 7 high!
If anyone wants a good seed, I am playing on "Big". On the 360/PS3 it was lacking in villages, but on the One/PS4 there are at least 2 villages (I had a search on Creative) and a Jungle Temple when set to the largest map size. Long walk from my base unfortunately. Resources seem plentiful and the Nether is not too inaccessible when I spawned in there. Not as good as it was on the 360 where I spawned inside the Fortress!
