No no it's still point and click. I suppose by chaining kills, I mean killing lots of enemies in quick succession. Think Dodonpachi, once you've blown up an enemy you've got a small period of time before you kill something else to keep the chain going.

The longer you can keep this going on for in Diablo, the more EXP you'll get once it's all calmed down.

This pretty much makes my teleport fist skill rune pay for itself. Warp from mob to mob, keep chain going, big EXP at the end of it.

It's definitely not like WoW though. You have attacks bound to your left button and right button.

As a Monk, your left click attacks generate spirit, whereas your right click attacks spend spirit and are generally more powerful. Attacking an enemy is as simple as left or right clicking on it and holding. This can lead to interesting combinations though - Right click attack skill rune enables a 360 degree AOE attack, so I can left click to teleport onto, right click to burst and knockback everything around me, and repeat until I need to regenerate spirit.

I really fancy it, but for 45 quid, I don't want to download it and be stuck with it. The co-op sounds ace. Which classes are you all going and why?

Monk was my first choice and I've not even tried the others. It was pretty much random choice to be honest, but I knew they got a healing skill and I always gravitate towards support/healer in online games if possible.

        Edit:
Discovered something that throws what I previously mentioned out of the water. I mentioned in first post that you have skills that can only be placed on 1, or 2, etc. For example, no AOE heal and AOE stun together. This is wrong.

There's an option called 'Elective Mode' which completely removes this restriction, and you can put any skills you like on any hotkey or mouse button. However, you still have to predefine a build - You can't go switching skills out quickly. Why was this a hidden away option? O_o

Played this for about 4 hours today, tried every class but Im still entierly not sure which I am going to stick with.

One thing I know is that i dont particuarly like the way Witch Doctor plays at first so it probabaly wont be that. Yes making loads of arms appear from the ground and grab enemies while you fling pots of poisonous spiders at them is a laugh on paper, but in reality it feels very slow to deal damage and not as much fun as it should be... plus no matter how cool being able to summon a trio of zombie dogs sounds, I just dont really like pets.

I have found the other 4 classes lots of fun. Barbarian feels badass, his melee attacks are really weighty and being an unstopable tank is fun but Im wondering if it will lack challenge.

Monk is like a superpowered ninja, really fast attacks and has lots of buffs and debuffs by the looks of it.

Demon Hunter is basically like any other hunter in these types of games, uses lots of ranged attacks from arrows and stuff.

Im leaning towards Wizard though at the moment, seems to have some really good abilities early on at least, love the continuous laser beam/ice ray thing. I also dont want things too easy so playing as what is probabaly the games glass cannon sounds like a plan.

Its an absolubtley brilliant game though from what I have seen so far. Well worth 45 quid.

Cool. I'm gonna pick it up when I get some money.

Not sure if you lot are aware of there being a game breaking bug (hotfix incoming).

I went with WD (Witch Doctor) as my first character too and I completely agree that he starts off very strange and somewhat slow, however I've just reached level 8 and found a nice combination of skills that make me very fast as killing things, and as SilverX mentioned before I get plenty of the kill combo awards.

Here's my build http://us.battle.net/d3/en/calculato...-doctor#acY!!a It's actually possible from lvl 6.

                * I've found Poison Dart with the rune to give me 3 shots more effective than the spiders, I'm not sure if the DPS is better, but it's more direct than waiting for spiders to attack their targets.
                * Firebats give excellent DPS, sure it drains mana, but mana replenishes so fast that you can kill most enemies on the screen before needing more.
                * The dogs are good for diversion and do their own damage of course.

I initially thought I wanted to be a pet WD, similar to Necromancer in D2, but all I could think of is when I finally play multiplayer that a Barbarian or Wizard is just going to bounce about and kill everything before I get a chance, however this build shows me that WD can have some really good DPS, so I'm hoping it'll be a good class later in the game too.

Anyone else have good builds with WD?

I only played for an hour this morning, and apart from the connection problems (disconnects every 5 minutes), I found it a really good game, I'm finding the skill, combat and item changes really interesting, and it still ultimately feels very Diablo to me.

You can get it for as little as ?32 from Tesco as long as they put it on the shelves ... which they haven't yet by the looks of it.

Barbarian was really poor in the very late game in D2, as some enemies could kill you in two hits and you needed to chip away from afar. Since they've implemented client specific loot this time around, you're going to be much better off very late game with long range

BREAKING: Diablo 3 is apparently the worlds shortest game.

Someone also needs to get out a bit more too i guess.... Never understood this "First" mentality with blizzard games First to 80 first to finish diablo 3. Still might just be me being old and cranky.

No, it's not you being old and cranky. It is a wee bit sad to race through a game just to to be "first".

Plus not only does that guy need to get out more, but its not really the worlds shortest game either, 12 and half hours is actually a respectable length for an action game, which lets face it is what Diablo 3 is. At the end of the day RPG's are usualy long becuase they contain 30 hours of dialogue. Diablo 3 is not a dialogue heavy RPG, its very combat orientated.

I think thats a good length, especially considering that Blizzard have always said normal diffculty is actually "easy mode"

Exactly, that and the game is supposed to be replayed so much, having a regular run through take too long would make the replayability a chore surely?

12 hours sounds pretty good, I'm sure you could get through D2 quicker than that, right?
