Me and my friend who hammered Terrorist Hunt on the R6V games are waiting for this to drop in price were just wondering if this has something similar.

my major complaint is that there is nearly no sense of danger in the encounters and no tension in the combat itself. in early Ghost Recon games you had to rely on your eyes and your sense of the terrain, but this has totally been dropped in favor of using overpowered high tech weaponry. another issue is the very limited movement in the tight, linear maps, leaving no room for classical flanking manoeuvres.

Haven't touched campaign yet but multiplayer is as expected from playing the crap out of the beta. When playing as a team with mics it's an absolute joy. The maps seem to offer something for everyone on how you want to play. Best thing as per the beta, team work nets you lots of XP. Exploring the different game types is fun - they each offer their own individual bits of excitement. Lag has been mostly nonexistant, however I've had some absolute shockers. Playing in Aussie timezone, I've been getting a good mix of locals and seppos which is nice. No poms as yet - hopefully some of you boys will see me online & join me at some point!!
So far, a resounding thumbs up.

OK - so I've now finished the single player campaign and got my first character to level 50 on multiplayer.
This is a tough one. I both love and hate this game in equal regard. There are so many great things about this game but so many really, really frustrating ones it's hard to balance them out.
In terms of multiplayer, I've played in some absolutely epic encounters where both teams where playing AS A TEAM, going for objectives and not only that, playing intelligently. They've been so tense it's been unreal. When playing games like these, this is the best adversarial multiplayer experience I've had, period. However when you get teamed with no mic wearing noobs and teams who spawn camp it is the absolute worst, add to the fact the endless loading, dropping servers and lag and you can see why there are not millions playing this constantly.
I'm going to stick my neck out here and without sounding like a tosser/wanker/elitist!, I reckon this is a thinking man's shooter. A thinking man's shooter that almost succeeds. That's why it is not selling millions ala COD.
I admire it for trying. If they can correct the problems on a follow up, they'll have a potential winner, however a potential winner for sadly, a minority audience.
The single player experience was enjoyable, if a little easy, on elite setting (apart from the extremely annoying "on rails" bits) - I like the weapon and tactical challenges - I'll be trying to complete all of these over the next few weeks.
However having said all of that, this will be my multiplayer game of choice (on 360 at least until I get my PS3 fixed) for the next few months until I bite the bullet and get Battlefield 3. I'm addicted despite the seemingly muriad number of problems (teams, servers, connection, retarded lobby etc).
Then there is also the new MOH which I am super excited about. I suspect after dabbling with both of these titles, Ghost Recon will, sadly and reluctantly, be consigned to history, however one that has given me many, many hours of videogame enjoyment.
8/10
