I just got this. ?20 D/L version of course I liked the two demos, so I've been looking forward to it. FE is going to have to go on the back burner for a while now.

Enjoy the enemy juggling and boob jiggling.

Can someone throw a review up of this? Tempted to pick it up but want to hear what someone thinks after playing a few hours of it. Have fears it will become too repetitive like Namco X Capcom did, despite its fan service and all.

It's a buy from me. Plays like a cross between Fire Emblem (isometric viewpoint, turn-based), and Mugen no Frontier/Endless Frontier's enemy juggling.

The story revolves around groups of people (game characters) being torn from their normal locations and thrust into generally unfamiliar surroundings, then being forced to fight various enemies while trying to find other misplaced compatriots.

The variety comes from grouping different characters together via solo units, and the support attacks that adjacent allies can perform. The finishing moves are my favourite for the utter nonsense that enchews. There are times when there is a little too much going on at the same time, and having such a simple control system does work to the advantage of the player (i.e. press the button then sit back and wait for the characters to stop moving before pushing it again).

I just started playing this but I don't really get it. The story is a load of rubbish and Im not sure I should even try to figure out what's going on, but the gameplay is kind of confusing.

I feel like I should be doing more with the combat, but the game hasn't really told me how to do that. It hasn't taught me how to play the game. Sure, I seem to be strolling through it, but it's with very little effort, I simply don't know what I'm doing, and I'm not sure it even matters?

You're going for combos and maximum damage.

Did you expect some serious, pulitzer prize winning narrative from a game like this?

You control the battles with A, Y, L and R. L and R are your support and solo attacks respectively and depend on having adjacent characters and a solo unit attached to the current pairing.
A is the attack launching button. Press this and the pair you are currently controlling will leap forward and attack with a set of moves. When this combo finishes they return to the neutral position. Before the enemy you just attacked hits the ground, do the same again with either A, right+A, left+A, up+A or down+A, depending what moves you've got. Your attack gauge in the bottom right usually shows 3 bars and so you have 3 attacks. Attacking and dealing damage increases your Exp bar. Using a support or solo attack AND regular attack at the same time activates the Cross Attack bonus and boost the amount your Exp bar gains. When this breaks the 100% mark, you can press Y to bring in the pairing's killer combo. Do this ONLY when you've used up all your attacks, support attack and solo attack (if available) as it also finishes your turn. If you defeat an enemy during a Cross Attack or the killer combo, you gain a boost to the XP received.

Okay? Try to practice timing the A attacks alone before anything more fancy.

Thanks I think I understand most of it, and my timing seems pretty good (I am keeping my combos up anyway).

Im still not sure on what the different moves do though? Are some attacks stronger than others? Or what?

I'm loving this. Doesn't look very tactical tbh, and being able to move, heal and attack in the same turn makes things quite easy, but it's fun! The characters, music and fanservice saves the day

I feel like I'm not playing this right or something. There's loads of stats, but they don't seem to really matter.

Considering the amount of healing items you get, it is a bit easy. There are also skills that can be used to restore health, do damage, etc. Access those from the X menu the same as for items.
