    Hotline Miami review

Hotline Miami is out and I am knee deep in dead goons.

For those that don't know about the game, get some knowledge. It is a top down, one hit kill murder orgasm in a neon soaked Miami. You are a guy that wears animal masks who goes on jobs for people. These jobs involve you battering the piss out of loads of bad guys. In each level you charge into a building, murder everyone in it and get out. You will die in one hit so the first priority is making it through the level and then maximising your score with combos. As soon as you die you can restart and you keep trying and trying until you make it through. It feels a lot like Super Meat Boy in that it is unforgiving, fast paced and immensely rewarding when you get it right.

The game looks fantastic. It is brightly coloured but incredibly seedy at the same time. The music is also brilliant some warped electronica perfectly setting the mood.

I don't want to say too much more as the story is weird and Lynchian and best discovered by playing it.

    Get to killing.

I bought this last night, but found it literallly a nightmare to play with a mouse, I'll plug my pad in later and have a go.

Anybody into their chip-tunes will like the music too, tis very cool

Pad support is broken at the moment I'm afraid.

I must admit I saw video previews and left it at that, Boris told me yesterday he bought it and I was like IT'S OUT??
Will have to grab it soon.

How does it look 1080p 60fps? Bet it's nothing short of spectacular.

IT LOOKS AMAZING. WHEN YOU STUN A GUY THEN JUMP ON HIM AND DRIVE HIS HEAD INTO THE FLOOR UNTIL IT EXPLODES I THOUGHT "THIS IS NEXT GEN"

I watched a youtube preview of this the other day, and I can't not see what he said now.

As a side note, this game is flippin' awesome.

Developers tweeted a few weeks ago they were doing Mac version next (November) and looking at console versions, that's the last that has been said.
