But the gamepad does charge and can be powered whilst on via USB. That was my post previously. The dock I got came with a USB cable that fits the gamepad power input and it works fine when plugged in my laptop USB slot. I also didn't see any huge change in charging time. This whole gampad not USB is some kind of internet miasma!!

It will charge just fine, it'll just take longer - fundamental misunderstanding.

Will VC games display full screen and speed on a PAL Wii U in Wii mode? I fancy Super Metroid, but not unless it's optimised.

I highly doubt it. I'd be very surprised if the Wii U specifically 'switched' to 60hz for PAL VC titles.

Sell off your PAL console and import a US one, before you build any more of a collection.

...or you could just do that instead.

I expect Dave's spot on. I did transfer one VC game from my Pal Wii to my Pal Wii-U (Dracula PCE - 60Hz import on VC) and one problem I do have is I can't get it to display in 4:3 ratio. There are no longer any display options in Wii menus on the Wii-U and cycling through the aspect ratios on my TV doesn't show up a 4:3 option either.

The WiiU is officially part of our furniture now. We all bloody love it.

Nintendo need to sort their marketing out so more people get to enjoy it :-)

Trouble is it wont hit mass market without the casual shovelware the Wii had, and therefore risking pissing off the core in the process. Also I think a lot of people underestimate how little spare cash people have these days. Its all well and good saying the WiiU hasn't sold very well, but part of that is the state of people's wallet.

It also doesn't help when the UK adverts get pulled for misleading (which in reality they were not)

I don't want it to hit mass market. I do want Nintendo to have worldwide releases though, else I'm going to buy a Japanese Wii U to play Wonderful 101.

W101 is definitely coming out in North America at least, so I expect the EU will see it.

It is, but it's not in the launch window, which means it'll probably come out in October, when everybody else is playing part Wonderful 102.

Quick question - anyone have any experience or advice about wireless sensor bars (for the Wii or Wii U)? I've overcome the audio issue at last, but it's a good 8 or so metres round the perimeter of the room from where the Wii U sits to where the sensor bar should be. There seems to be plenty of them available, but if they're going to introduce a boatload of lag then I'll have to think about another solution?

Trust me if that happens my WiiU will be going on Fleabay and I won't be going back to Nintendo ever again ... this isn't the 90's ffs ...

The thing is though for publishers to be interested in getting games to it (exclusive or otherwise) it needs to be selling units, and that means getting the casual crowd in, because the hardcore wont be interested.
