Persona 4 Golden - Vita review

I'm surprised there is no thread for this. A lot of people are raving about it on the vita threads.
I picked up the vita just for this very game. Even if i have played it before, i never did get around to finishing it like i did with P3. So revisiting it in its ultimate version is an absolute pleasure.
What i'll start with is the colourful, crisp and sharp presentation. Everything just looks like its leaping out to you. You even get an extra menu that gives you stuff like music, trailers and background information. This section gets updated during your progress.

The game itself plays like it has before, ps2 visuals look nice. Has some new features where you can see what other people are doing at your point in the game as well as ask for assistance in the dungeons. Seems like its taking a leaf out of Catherines book. The SOS feature does seem basic and nothing really comes from it in battle so far.

If you have a Vita this title needs to be in your collection. Persona 3 took me 125hrs to finish the first time around and Persona 4 is looking to be the same heavy and rewarding experience.

Waiting for the UK release next year so I can own it digitally.

Really looking forward to it (and still playing through P3P)

Ive been meaning to make a thread for thus, but the constant sense of discovery in the game has made coming up with some coherent thoughts difficult.

Suffice to say, like everyone else I'm finding this to be a genuinely superb game. I'm almost exactly 20 hours in now and everything just pulls together so wekl to make a game that you can lose hours and hours to without even realising. The 'downtime' of being in the real world just works so well and coudl easily be an entire game in itself. The battle system is also brilliantly satisfying.

I've done the first half hour or so, and it's my... my... [shame]first SMT game[/shame].

Hoping to get some more time with it over the festive season. It looks lovely though, and the opening made me smile.

Sounds like all the forumites are enjoying this one. Might be the game to make me pick up a VITA once the price drop hits. Hopefully the release schedule ramps up for 2013 so the portable is here to stay.

              Any more impressions?

After finished P3P about 6 months ago, I couldn't wait to play this- and bought a vita for it.

Popped it in last night, only played an hour or so- but it's looks STUNNING on dat screen!

I'm really enjoying it but as expected it needs a lot more time than I can really dedicate to it. I'm around 5 hours in and it's just got to the (rather daunting) part where it lets me decide what I do with my time each day - any pro-tips from veterans here?

It's a lovely showcase for the Vita though - wonderful, colourful UI design, and the character portraits are beautifully drawn. I feel like I've really missed a trick ignoring the series till now.

Loving it so far about 40 hours in! My first entry was P3P which I played on Vita before in preparation for this.
P4G improves every aspect of P3P and that was excellent in my opinion.
I'm just into the summer holidays so I imagine theres about 50%+ more to go.

Good to hear. And bro, I only got into the franchise with Persona 3. That game was the longest RPG I ever played, really. Persona 4 trimmed a lot of the fat and I was thankful for that. Feels like Midsummer Murders in a Japanese countryside town but in a good way.

                          Bring P5 on already Atlus!

P.S Wish I could retrieve my JAP PSN account so I could play my digital version of P3 on PSP again! FFS FFS!!!
