Not sure if I can even beat DMC3 on Normal with my hands now though.
You need to unlock Climax by finishing Hard anyway.

I think I would prefer Hard myself, as the beat downs during Witch Time or so satisfying. Hard mode is more of a combo attack whilst Climax is a survival (with a peppering of combos), I think. The combo quota for PP ranks on Climax is smaller, due to the omission of Witch Time and the bonuses it gives. I don't know how this curves out though, maybe you would need to perform higher scoring non-WT combos to hit the quota like that, if that makes sense.

Just totally finished this, 1000G. I can understand why people are kind of upset with the game, but I loved it. I loved the old ones too, but this feels fresh. Which is kind of what I wanted. It would be nice if they could somehow continue the old ones along with the new, but I doubt they will.

DmC seems to be an extremely easy game (nephilim was a joke in the demo), catered for a wider audience like most others ie. you -will- reach the end.
Letting people reach the end sound like a good idea to me I am doing what I always do for DMC games: I play through it on Normal, then grind levels to unlock all Dante's tools (and practice combos) and then go for harder difficulties. I love DMC games, but I am definitely not a pro. I replayed DMC3 when the HD version came out and while that is a superior game, this one is a lot of fun too.

I read somewhere, possibly IGN, that Bloody Palace mode will be added as a free download "soon after release". To me, the fact that it shipped without Bloody Palace is the biggest mistake with the new game. DMC always shines the most when you don't have to spend time on the sub-par platforming and can just concentrate on beating the **** out of demons.

As I play thro again and again i have a small wishlist; here is what id do with this game to make it just-so...well, for me at least.

Adjust Dante's in air hitbox, it seems a little off, sometimes I'm really high, or at least what id call 'really high' and i still get swiped out the air by enemies bellow. Maybe its just me, but I'm sure I've seen criticism similar to this in other places. Plus criticising 'hit-boxes' makes it look like i know what the hell I'm doing.

Remove the restrictions that only some enemies can be hurt by angel/demon weapons, this is more of a annoyance and its circling around a lot of other communities when DmC complaints are brought up. I'm inclined to partially agree, perhaps the specific weapon could do more damage or have some other effect. Like the point below, its not necessarily about difficulty, its more of about combos and fun and such.

Finally, I think there needs to be more enemies encountered. To be fair, there's lots more enemies in the higher difficulties but really they should be there in all of them, not for added difficulty per say, but for killing!, for performing your bad ass combos on! I don't want to run around for 5 mins doing platforming and not get a nice massive battle pay off. That's what devil may cry is all about; waves of enemies you can mercilessly ass kick, and look ****ing good while doing it. This is prob just a carry over from restrictions of console performance. They could triple the enemies in each encounter on the pc version...they should do...would be awesome. I shall write to my local ninja theory dev member ho ho.

PC version got a nice 1.3gig update today on steam, hopefully laying the ground work for Bloody Palace mode, now that is going to kick ass.

            Started playing this tonight.
Not once in the 2.5 hours that I've played have I found Dante an annoying character. In fact I think they've got him spot on!

            Who invited you, fat ass?

I think for the mandate ninja theory would have been given, they have totally nailed it and I think it's a real shame the backward fans are spreading their poison like cans of Virility.

I'm super impressed with this game, it's really great!

I'm glad Goemon said it first heh

I laughed at the "hey Bob, put a spin on this" to the news anchor...OH come on that was actually pretty clever! haha

I haven't played it. In fact, I have never played a DMC game in my life, bar the demo of DMC4 on PS3. I was just flexing my democratic right to vote.

Loving this! amazing graphics on PC, super fast, fluid, the colours are beautiful. Definitely the best one up to now in my opinion. It does look lush in 20:9 as well Bloody good job the developers did on this for the PC, not a lazy port, so top marks to them!

It's a good game and they made Dante completely likeable. Enjoyable story to boot. However it does have some faults, the enemies are boring. Some of the levels are really bland and short, there are only a few stand out levels like the club which is a highlight. However the combat itself and boss fights more than make up for those minor quibbles.

finished dmd mode and now gone back to get the SSS trophy for nephilim. bit crap that using super dante takes -50% off your results, makes it impossible to use if you want the top rank. and sadly even though I SSSd the first level on DMD I cant do it on nephilim, as the enemies die too quick to get the big ranks. going to have to think on it.

You can remove the upgrades to your weapons that make your attacks stronger. Might help.

Had a short go on the PC version on max settings and the difference compared to the console demo is amazing. I couldn't go back to the console version after that, it's garbage in comparison. Good then that the next gen is on the way.

If you're still after this, the axe's trinity smash move gets you a SSS very very quickly.
