It bloody does. The beginning is so reminiscent of U2! Especially the bit in
the tractor thing when it's falling over the cliff and you have to climb through it. The camera keeps pulling up to show the drop...like in Uncharted 2
The snow too and the way it kicks up remind me a lot of U2.
I'm not saying it's a bad thing (not at all). It's just thats what the demo made me think of.
Unless that's not allowed?

This Demo doesn't really have great level design. Also if it reminds me of any game it is actually Resident Evil 5 in that its basically the same as the last game in the series only they have cranked up the action but not altered the gameplay to match that. This even has enemies with guns in it and a poorly implemented cover system, just like RE5.
So maybe it wants to be Uncharted 2. But it's not very good at it.Last edited by rmoxon; 24-01-2013, 06:43.

I agree games these days pinch and borrow elements from each other. I'll probably nip into the MGR thread in a minute and spout off about how it reminds me of Ninja Gaiden only to be firmly put in my place for having an opinion.
I didn't say "it wants to be" I said "it's what the demo made me think of" just as you have just stated that it reminds you of Resi 5.
I'm not going to turn around and say "err, no it doesn't" because that's rude and, as I've slipped over 3 times on the walk to work and have yet to have my morning coffee, I probably wouldn't stop there and I don't want to get banned.
Good day, Sir.

This is just nothing special. Its not a bad game and I found the co-op to be decent fun although the shooting gameplay isn't really up there with true shooters.
The problem is that Dead Space was some sort of saving grace for a lot of gamers who were disappointed by Resident Evil's departure to pure action. DS1 was quite survival horror ish, and even DS2 still was a little bit like it. Now DS3 goes completely shooter as well which is a disappointment.
To me DS3 simply looks worse than the second, the enemies seem to be less interesting and the map layouts are now completely shooting gallery.
DS3 reminds me the most of both Lost Planet and RE5. I hated both games, but DS3 does feel better to play. Dead Space 3 seems to be a fun game to co-op over a weekend but i'm not going to pay full whack for this.

Yeah, the demo was crap for the first game but only because it was so short.
Not feeling this one at all, it's not scary at all and lacks the atmosphere from the last two (especially the first), probably because you're not alone and with some other twirp.
I hate the weapon crafting as well, the UI is a convoluted mess with crap all over the place. Give me DS1 or Resi 4's system any day.
I'm not really surprised I dislike it, the 2nd one had nothing on the 1st in all aspects I'd say.

I'd be really surprised if this game turns out to be on par with the previous 2.

To be honest, if they had implemented a single button evade, it would of been easily one of the best demos ever made.Last edited by EvilBoris; 24-01-2013, 19:26.

Tried the demo single player and co-op, really enjoyed it. I'm interested in the story, Isaac, markers and unitology. Want to see where it's all going, love all of that stuff, makes for really sinister setting.
I'll be there day one.
