I also really loved the demo. Can't wait to see the customization options when the full game comes out.

I think the thing with the customisation options is that, as the narrator says in the opening VT (which stands for Video Tape), the bench in the demo is loaded with more options so people can see what it's like.

I found it a little confusing but expect it to be better explained in the fill game.

I'd be really surprised if this game turns out to be on par with the previous 2.
Exactly, it's an abomination to the original game. The second pissed on it and this one is just taking a big steamy dump.

I don't. Infact I'd bet on it that it doesn't explain it better. The game is ****. It's an action game with jump scares. They've removed everything that was excellent about the first game.

Everyone is still commenting on a pre-release demo, right?! Or have I just clicked through to NeoGaf by mistake? / ****sake...

Never played Mr. B, but I know never to trust a demo (apart from Silent Hill demo that came with MGS). Anyway it stands to reason that demos usually offer spectacle and explosions rather than more sedate, measured aspects of a game. Tension/horror takes time to build in a player if done right. Can't be 'switched on' for a short demo.

In better news, pre-orders are tracking higher than dead space 2.
Good for the future of the series. Reckon this game is going to be the end for Isaac As main character.

Still think he's going to go crazy and turn to the dark side, become the main bad guy for the series.

"According to a first quarter earnings call today, pre-orders of Dead Space 3 “are tracking almost five-times higher than Dead Space 2 in the same timeframe in 2010.”

When I created this thread I purposely stated it was the demo. We are reviewing the demo,I can't talk for other people, but the demo will not make me judge the full game any differently.

However it's still a crap demo.. And I have played plenty of demos that actually made me look forward to games before...the DeadSpace 2 demo was one of them in fact. It was a brilliant teaser for the game.

The worrying thing here though is not that the demo is badly structured, or it seems like it could be a bad example of the game. It actually feels like it might be giving a good example of the game, and that game might not be very good..... But we shall see in a couple of weeks when the game is released.

After playing this again, this time co-op, I am impressed now. Not a day one purchase going by the demo, but to play co-op I will be buying as it seems to be the main focus.
