The multiplayer in this is much better than past efforts. Agree that the connection or general lag issues are minimal here, the maps and ammo pickups keep players moving and in general the weapon balance is such that it doesn't boil down to a Gnasher shotgun fest.

I've been loving FFA for the sheer fact you can't get into battles where you're outnumbered which is key to TDM Etc... So its just pure mayhem. Then I actually love TDM for the opposite, when its all about organised map control. Then of course you have Domination which is great and to cap it off OverRun which is a class above with its Locust v Cog tactics.

The more I play multiplayer the more impressed I am with it. Yet I can see how fans of the original may not be so pleased. As such I am hoping when they deliver Execution with DBNO and add the extra maps it delivers something for everyone.

I've hardly touched the campaign in comparison..... :/

I played more of the Campaign over the weekend and I am slightly more pleased about some of it and not so much other parts again.

The Campaign is much better on a Harder setting. Its hard to explain but it kinda feels like Halo where playing it on Ledge is the way to go.

A disappointment is the online Co-Op I made myself a open party on Insane and after a little while my party filled up. I then became shocked that some people in my party became DBNO. On insane this is turned off and you just die right away which is what was happening for me.

After looking at my stats it has give me the clear for insane but not the stars. I did a level by myself on insane and got the level clear plus stars. So if your looking for a Full clear either play on your own or your friends who you will know will set it on insane.

I actually like the new campaign even though there isn't much to it, I wasn't a big fan of the previous Gears campaigns aside from them being ok for a run through in co-op. Although it's been a bit odd getting used to the new controls I do think they're good particularly Y to switch weapons and just being able to tap the bumper for grenades which makes them vastly more useful.

I am disappointed with Horde mode being removed, I don't find Survival in anyway a replacement and what's particularly frustrating is I can't see it would have taken long to put a similar Horde to GoW3 in as all the bits are already there really. I was frustrated by the lack of Firefight mode in Halo4 so tried the Zombies mode in Black Ops 2 and didn't think much of that either so I fired GoW3 back up and was delighted to find not only were people still playing the game but they were generally very good. I thought I'd aim for getting up to level 100 then move onto Judgement however after playing Judgement for a bit I went back to GoW3. There are flaws in the implementation (particularly that people can't join a game in progress and 50 levels is just too long and difficult with randoms) but it still works really, really well and even though I've played it a lot (just passed 2000 waves) I don't feel at all bored with it.

I'd love to see a proper Horde mode back for DLC which I'd even pay for as right now Judgement feels like a waste of money as I've little inclination to go back to it.
