Up to the third mansion now and it feels quite drawn out. My biggest issue is with the controls however, they don't suit just one stick and I've found it very frustrating trying to stun a ghost and being locked in a certain direction, seems like sloppy design.

Overall I'm glad it came out but feel it could of done with some more dev time to refine the controls and cut the chaff out, like the stairway section.

Just finished this and I thought it was marvellous, all in all. I agree that the controls are not perfect (the Z-lock that ties you to the forward axis when aiming is absolutely wrong, as mostly you need to be swinging around 360 degrees), and the game certainly seems drawn out, even though it's not overly long and there's a lot of variety in the environments and scenarios. I think it seems long because Professor E. Bloody Gadd keeps zapping you back to HQ at very opportunity, and you have to sit through the 4 or 5 annoying identikit vocalizations that are provided for him, which gets annoying really quick. It would have been better if they'd just thrown you into each mansion and let you puzzle the whole thing out are your own pace - and with a proper in-game save system, Even so, I love cheesy haunted house type games and scenarios, like Gregory Horror Show on PS2 and the ingenious haunted villa level on Zakk and Wiki on Wii, so this game was lush for me.

Loving this but I'm going to leave it for a little and go back after finishing another couple of games.

I never finished it. I think I was on the very last level and it beat me a couple of times and I didn't have the patience for it. The main mechanic of sucking up ghosts didn't grab me at all. What I did love was exploring the locations and looking for secrets and I think generally that the settings were awesome. Made it all the more frustrating that it was broken up into levels and I kept getting brought back to E Gadd rather than being allowed to have a start to finish flow, like a sort of Resident Evil. Would have preferred that.

Still, looks lovely on the 3DS with some great places to explore. I enjoyed it but didn't love it.

I really enjoyed this. The graphics, music and atmosphere were absolutely fantastic. I think the way it was split into levels was OK, considering it was a handheld game. I'd absolutely love to see what they could do with a more joined up, Resident Evil type experience on the Wii U though. That could be genuinely stunning.

Unlike yourself though Dogg, I really enjoyed the ghost vacuuming - there was something very satisfying about it. It did turn into a bit of a pain in the arse sometimes later in the game though, I think the mechanics could do with some tightening up.

Glancing up the thread, there's some mention of filler content. I'd probably concur with that. It's a very good but not great game, in my book.
