Played it for hours today no probs on my ps3

I got this on Vita. Part of me thinks I'm nuts given I haven't finished Origins and there are many other different games I haven't picked up yet but anyhow... oh em gee the backgrounds are gorgeous. Looks absolutely beautiful on Vita. Some levels are all touchy and swipy. Not sure I'm a fan of that at all. But the main Rayman levels so far (and I have only played a couple) seem really strong and very enjoyable.

They do bring home why I don't ever 100% games like this. I'm not into the hunting around the level mechanic. To me, that's like searching the house for a missing sock. It's a mechanic that seemed to become big in the PS1 era with games trying to be Mario 64 but not being quite sure how and it has been dropped in many genres but is alive and well here.

But that doesn't matter because there is still the main playthrough of the levels, which is tons of fun even without searching for everything. Great look, great sound, great design and tons of fun. I'm going to enjoy this!

        Got this on Vita today.

OK the good: it looks and sounds great, perfect mobile gaming and I know the missing bits will be patched later. It is like having my PS3 in my pocket. The characters seem slightly bigger that Origins. Over all top stuff.

The Bad: Murfy stages. On PS3 dexterity is needed to control Murfy using the O button and control Rayman and it is great to use. Now Murfy is controlled using the touch screen while Rayman is reduced to Autopilot. I understand this is the same as the Wii U control set up, and it doesn't work, it breaks the flow of the game and what was a quick platformer slows right down when you have to do the touch screen presses and swipes. Also, some sections you now have to rotate the Vita, I guess to make up for the lack of L1/L2 R1/R2 set up. Rotating I can live with but the touch screen stuff seems like a big step backwards.

Thankfully it is only 10% of the game, but it does detract. No doubt Wii U fanatics will disagree, but this is my opinion

Other than that neg about the Murf, it is great at perfect for Vita, I have bought two copies PS3 and Vita now!

There seems to be tons of those levels. And I had one where Rayman was going on automatic and just got stuck in a jump cycle. Had to restart the section. Luckily all checkpoints are pretty close so no major problem.

The first castle rock level is so awesome.

I love the music and the invaded levels the best.

In the end I caved and picked up the PS3 version. I could never explain exactly why but despite overall enjoying Origins something about it just never clicked and when I go onto that games levels in this the same disconnect happens again. The new stuff though just feels much better, there's a few occasions where it feels like the level is a little too built around a particular approach or too many actions in a small amount of space/time but generally its a much better built game than the last title. So far is it the best 2D platformer in recent years? Quite possibly. Is it the 10/10 tour de force some reviews pitch it to be? Of course not. However, it does take off its glove very early on, turn to Nintendo and ten slap them across the face with it.

Haven't been there yet. Absolutely loving this game. The more obvious structure is working much better for me than in Origins, which was kind of splayed out around a map. And the levels are a joy. Even the swipy ones, of which there are a load, are generally really great. And the music levels are a real treat.

When gaming went 32-bit, the world was thinking 3D. But I was hoping for the next gen of 2D platformers. For the most part we didn't get that (there were a few though - Kao Flyong Squadron 2 comes to mind). But this is like all my 2D platforming dreams from those days finally realised. A wonderful game.

Legends flows much better than Origins. Thats the main reason why I can play this game for hours while I gave up on Origins rather quickly. Legends being just over 35 euros on Ps3 is another big plus, Origins was full whack.

Totally agree, and has the 'just one more' feel about as well, never have I blamed the game for a missed jump either, it was all me. Rare class game this and if it was called Mario, it would be a system seller. Ubi Soft have handed the mighty Nintendo a lesson on on how to create what is for me the best platform game ever.

Just wondering, how do they do the scratch card thing on PS3/360?

You use both sticks. Each one controls a cartoon hand that scratches the card.

This game is utterly superb. Played more of it over the weekend with a couple of friends and 20,000 Lums Under The Sea is complete. I love the theming of the worlds so much, it's such a relief to see a platform game that doesn't just employ grassy level/snow level/sand level/dungeon level in the most basic way possible. I love the James Bond style music in the 20,000 Lums levels that require you to sneak around the 'security cameras' (the green lights).

I've had a peek at the next world, seems to be based on Greek mythology. Reminds me of Hercules on PS

Never played a Rayman game in my life but picked this up based on all the positive comments and reviews flying about. It's rather good isn't it Only played a little so far but it's so great it grabs you instantly and makes you want to keep playing and playing. Everything feels right and the production values are through the roof. I knew nothing about this game a week ago and it's a proper gem.

This! More evocative than most of those Eurocom games (Goldeneye notwithstanding)!
