BHPL is wasted as with high stats and auto-protect, you don't need more than 9999 HP for anything.

Reading this thread brings back good memories of the last 2 FF games I enjoyed.
In FFX-2 I never did beat the old man down in the dungeon type place. I did my best to beat the crap out of him and even with Catnip etc I could not kill him before he cast the spell that kills everyone.
He remains the only FF boss (up to X-2) I did not kill.

Not sure if anyone else is after a physical version of X2 but PA have it in stock at the moment pretty cheap too.
Final Fantasy X-2 HD Remaster [English] for PlayStation VitaFinal Fantasy X-2 is the first direct sequel, in video game format, for the franchise and continues all the elements that we have grown to love as FF-gamers. The story trails Yuna, a character from Final Fantasy X, as she tries to resolve the political conflicts that could lead to a Spira-destroying war! Although the title only features 3 playable characters, it is the first instance of an all-female cast and early access to many of the game's locations. With gameplay variations on the class system and multiple endings to the story, ...

I'm actually a big fan of X-2 and never understood the hate, but one thing irks me - how easy it is to fail to get 100% completion just because you decided to do some things in a certain order, or speak to one NPC before another. For example, taken from a guide on GameFAQs:
"In the event that you're walking to Moonflow from Djose area, you'll run into that Hypello first, who'll be yelling for help. DO NOT talk to him, instead proceed forward to Moonflow river - here talk to red midget to get the % you need for 100%."
Well lovely - so I've been punished for doing the missions as I'm supposed to.

Yeah, I've been following a 100% guide and I made a separate save at each full percentage. I made the same mistake, its stupidly annoying and it's put me off a bit from playing the game. I spend around 70% of my time play the game on the pause screen reading up and cross referencing multiple guides to make sure I'm going to do the next 1 and a half minutes of the game right. Then the screen shatters and everything I read up to that point I instantly forget lol.

I bought this for Vita in the recent sale and I'm just getting into FF-X now. It looks lovely on the Vita screen, whether through the visual upgrade or just the pretty screen. I remember being disappointed with how dull this looked back in the day, especially compared with the vibrant colours of the Dreamcast, but this looks really colourful. The clunky animations are really the only area that shows its age. Everything else looks modern.
Not sure I like the music changes. The have switched instrumentation in a few places and I preferred it the way it was before. They're not bad, just pointelessly different mostly.
As for the game itself, I find the opening sections a little messy. Not a huge fan of the characters at this point but then I probably wasn't when I played the original either. I think it took some time to grow on me, especially Tidus himself. The world is lovely though. Besaid Island was beautiful and the areas after that too. At Luca now, I think.
