    Agreed.

I was getting frustrated, but I could tell you were seeeeeething!

My favourite part was when we agreed you'd snipe whilst we fended off the ants/spiders. Whilst he lay unconscious he asked why you had such inappropriate weapons for dealing with spiders and I politely explained that we were supposed to be protecting him from them whilst he focussed on the dropships...

Innuendo aside, the Brute is a mighty chopper. On that beach mission with the Leggies coming out of the ocean, I did a double-take as I noticed in the distance a spider stomping down the hillside, far too big to be standard. One coastal missile sent it flying across the sand, stunned, which gave me time to get in the Brute's gun turret and finish it off. MAGICAL indeed!

I've sussed that the vehicle drops land in the direction that you threw the marker flare, thus throwing away from oncoming enemies means you have no form of defense and can mean the difference between taking off or not. For the Brute, throwing it side-on to the larger enemies means you don't even have to take off, just get in the turret and start shooting.

Just two missions to go on Normal difficulty!

Wots throttle down on helis? Left trigger is throttle up but there seems to be no quick way down...?

I don't think there is, you just let go of the left trigger.

          Normal, get!

I spent the majority of the final mission on my back watching the light show whilst Katsu and Team Juans rolled around looking for health, trying to survive.

They chipped away and finally defeated the Ravager menace!

TJ got a Lysander 2, which made the once impossible pit level possible again.

Although I took out the queen wasp and a couple of dropships with my Brute on the penultimate level, the rest of the night was spent activating support posts and dying. Sorry!

Any advice from EDF vets on how to get good range on wingdiver's area effect aerial weapons like gleipnir and thunder cluster? I use 2nd trigger to open up a good, long distance arc but they always start discharging really too close to me rather than towards target end of arc. This is a problem with thunder cluster, I discovered, when the bouncing bolts of electric death decimated me and most of my squad, who left me on the deck for remainder of the lvl as fair punishment.

Sorry, I've not played as Wing Diver yet, so I can't honestly say. My suggestion would be to use the radar and comms to co-ordinate your attacks, but most PS3 owners never speak.

I was playing as an Air Raider and an American random was a Fencer and we took on the level where the hectors storm the beach. I was planting markers on them and he was sending missiles that followed their tracking beacon, which worked incredibly well, but then we were communicating with each other our plan of attack.

Played with a couple of low health Fencers who needed revival on every level at least once.
It gave me a taste of what Katsu has to put up with...

PS3 squad are communicating well (in late 30s on hard now), but these were randoms. The pre-set comms are almost more useful though I think as they're precise and don't get drowned out. Best game I've played in years, so much fun.

It's a bit tricky sending a message when you're getting chomped/sprayed/shot, but aside from that, it's a pretty useful system.

                  Glad you're enjoying it too!

I can't get enough of it! I'm constantly thinking about what I want to do in it. I'm thinking of sticking with Air Raider all the way through to Inferno now, then trying some of the other classes afterwards.

I have no idea how we're going to do the last level on Inferno!

I love the dramatic character of the txt comms.: "I owe you my life!", "I...Will...Not...Die!", pure B movie comedy.

Anyway been practising with those area effect hand-lobbed weapons and they will not fly no matter what. Think they're meant to be pretty much dropped in situ then leg it (or wing it) away before you frazzle yourself. Thunder Cluster is bloody lethal for this.

I like how there's about 8 different shouts that pretty much say the same thing:
                      Waaah!
                      Waaaaaah!
                      Wuu-aaaaaah!
                      Wuuuuurh!
                      Woooooaaaah!

                      EDF! EDF!
                      E-D-F! E-D-F!
                      EDF EDF EDF!
                      EEEE DDDD FFFFF!

I'm looking forward to getting a few more vehicles now I've seen that the higher versions are a lot better. The standard helicopter took me through most the normal levels, but I've since unlocked essentially the same helicopter, but it's crazy-manoeuvrable! No more waiting ten seconds before take off. I was pleased to see the napalm dropped on a hector had it stay on fire for a while.

I have a bunch of air strikes that are thrown like grenades. I hold down the trigger and it starts showing the arc of how it'll be thrown. Do your hand-lobbed weapons not do that too?

I've not needed to farm yet, but at some point, I'm going to have to bulk up my armoury.

DLC2 seems the way forward as mission 16 is a great spider level in the caves that pops out goodies like a fruit machine.

summon hijacks the mothership's Genocide Gun and fires it where you drop a marker!

Yep, exactly the same. I use those with my Air Ranger 'build' as well and you can really get distance. Same mechanic with these Wing Diver weapons though and they detonate right in your grill every time. I suspect it's to stop you using her as a long-range player and force you to use the manouevrability, flying right into the thick, dropping it then getting the hell out. That's my theory anyway...
