Seems they're hopping left and right really quickly to help maintain a tight racing line too. Personally, I think it should be patched out. What you think?

I think it's fair play. It's not like any knob can do it. It takes patience to learn and skill implement successfully and makes physical sense within the game world.

It also feels great when you can do it.

Please don't tell me snaking is back ... They had better patch that out pretty quick, won't be playing MK8 again online till they do.

Physical sense in the game world in that everything is quirky? I dunno, it makes the game look too hoppy to me. Not a fan.

I can't really see it being much use in a 150cc Tournament setting - it's complete carnage with items flying all over the place. Obviously time trials is a different matter.

Its the same problem as snaking, this issue is that once people cotton on to it, it will be being used all the time, effectively forcing me do it as well. I don't see why I should be expected to hop around the track constantly in order to keep up with people, that's pretty retarded.

The same issue occurred with DS MK and snaking, and that game was ruined online because of it.

From someone who thought snaking ruined F-Zero GX time trials this is nothing like snaking, in reality... You're just hopping throughout the boost to ring as much as you can out of the initial propulsion by removing friction from ground contact. It's no where near "hopping around the track constantly".



Playing as consistently as that is no easy feat. I find that it's quite a viable technique in terms of extending the skill cap of the drift mechanics.

Yeah, it's such a fun and addictive game. Hopefully there will be a few tweaks to the online along the way regarding the screens outside of online races. Plus our new BDTTGP will keep us going for some time to come.
